I have 15 plus years of experience in the field, working with children, tweens, pre- teens and teens across different settings.
Are you someone who has a child who is struggling with emotional regulation, anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, or difficulties with self-esteem and relationships, often feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed by big emotions they don’t yet have the tools to manage? They need a safe, trusting environment where they can express themselves freely through play or conversation while learning skills that match their developmental level. Goals can include feeling calmer and more confident, improving communication, strengthening relationships with caregivers and peers, and building resilience to navigate everyday stressors.

I have seven years of experience working with teens and adults.
Do you struggle with anxiety? Is it hard to get motivated to do the things you want to do? Do you want to achieve more balance in your life? Have you noticed that you say 'yes' to things you wish you could decline? Maybe you feel that the way people perceive you doesn't match the ways you think about yourself. Maybe you feel overwhelmed by things that others seem to handle with ease. Maybe you've noticed that you prioritize the needs of everyone around you over your own. If any of the above resonates with you, know you aren't alone.

I became a therapist because facilitating people's growth during difficult times is my strength, my purpose. I have been assisting people making changes in their lives as long as I remember. Change is difficult but impossible to avoid. Also, mental health, when untreated, can take people down unintended paths. I want to change the stigma of asking for help and spent the last 5 years serving in the US Air Force doing this and I saw the difference it can make. I want people to be comfortable asking "are you thinking of hurting yourself?" I have an open door, glass half full, solution focused mindset. All are welcome so let’s talk.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) working with children, teens, and adults navigating complex trauma and relationship challenges.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it takes real courage to reach out. I work with individuals ages 5+ who want a safe, supportive space to explore challenges in life and relationships. Together, we’ll build self-awareness, integrate mindfulness, and develop coping strategies that feel realistic and sustainable. I’m especially passionate about trauma-informed care for neurodiverse individuals, particularly where neurodiversity and PTSD intersect.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
