Therapists in Bozeman, MT

Daytime openings available in March 2025. Imagine a world where growing up was easy and adulting was just as simple? There would be no peer relationship struggles, everyone had great self-esteem, angelic behaviors abounded, and traumatic life events never occurred. Heck, even our work and home lives were a breeze, we all had uncomplicated relationships, and mental health concerns did not exist. Unfortunately, we do face hard things. Therapy is a way to get help, guidance, and relief as you walk through the daily challenges of life. Are you ready for change? I bet you are!

There are points in our life when burdens become too heavy, the way forward too dim, and we lose sight of who we are. I believe suffering is not meant to be endured alone. As a counselor, my hope is to provide a space where there is both warmth and freedom – freedom to show up as you are and walk into light, which is a metaphor that means something different to each person. This often requires courage and time. I will compassionately and respectfully walk with you, as we navigate the path towards healing and wholeness together.

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and feel that everyone deserves to experience contentment with who they are and where they are at in life. I utilize a client-centered, strengths based approach and focus on interpersonal dynamics in the therapeutic space. I incorporate mindfulness, somatic, and other coping strategies in session. I find it’s important to both provide the tools and skills needed to navigate day-to-day life while also treating the ‘root’ of the problem. I am creative, integrative, and individualized in my approach to counseling. I primarily use, and have been trained in, Ego State Therapy and EMDR.

When I reflect on what being a therapist means to me, the words that come to me are hope, healing, connection, and wholeness. The entire reason that I am a therapist is to help my clients discover that these do not represent mere words, but signify real experiences. I desire that each person I encounter in my work to experience all that life has to offer. However, I recognize that living in this world is not easy, and there is suffering, loss, trauma, disconnection. These experiences, though incredibly difficult, can also be the impetus and foundation of profound and transformative healing.

I believe that mental health is similar to one's physical health. Just as we can hurt and thrive physically, so can we hurt and thrive psychologically and emotionally. There are times when we can all use someone to talk to, someone to help us navigate life, or someone to walk with us as we move through periods of growth and newness. I will work hard to meet you where you are, offering unconditional regard and emotional support.

Life in Montana offers breathtaking beauty but also unique challenges. In our rural landscape, struggles with isolation, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse are more prevalent than almost anywhere else in the country. Long winter and the culture of self-reliance can make asking for help hard, but you don't have to face it alone.

Let's be honest, most of us wouldn't go back to our adolescent years even if someone paid us to do so. Growing up is hard and life throws a lot at children, teens, and young adults. It is not uncommon to feel many conflicting ways about adolescence (and often times many conflicting ways at once). The things we face as we grow up impact our ability to engage, succeed, and feel accepted in our family life, our friend and peer circles, and in our academic sphere. It is my distinct honor to work with adolescents as they navigate some of the toughest years of life.
