Sometimes being a human sucks. Each of us faces our own set of problems in life and it can be hard to see a way forward when we are in the midst of them. While you are the only one who truly knows and can change your life, it can be helpful to have an outside person to guide the process. I believe the success of therapy lies in the relationship. My goal is to build a secure relationship that encourages you to take the hard steps but also offers a safe place to return. Through this relationship, we will create an environment to explore what is and is not working, identify negative patterns, and challenge unhelpful beliefs.

Seeking help for mental health can be a confusing, intimidating process: a counseling relationship built on trust, compassion, and empathy is the first step in navigating that process and getting the help you need. Whatever is going on in your life, I will meet you there with no judgment.

My passion is teaching specific tools to help people heal from the distress of current, past, or multi-generational trauma and any related addictions. I provide an atmosphere of safety and compassion to assist in expressing, understanding and healing the pain and shame of trauma and addictions; thereby transforming the legacy of pain into a legacy of healing. As a proponent of social justice and anti-racism, I also promote understanding of how we are shaped by community and community is shaped by us through the intersectionality of race, gender, class, and sexuality.

Our systems – from our own bodies to the family and societal systems of which we are a part – are incredibly resourceful and complex. They carry templates and memories of past emboided and inter-generational experiences. And while our systems are adaptive and responsive, sometimes their best attempts at solving life’s challenges fall flat. In some cases, particularly where there has been acute or developmental trauma, old templates provoke pernicious repetitions – such as immobility in behaviors/relationships, or replacement of one unhelpful behavior/relationship for another equally unsatisfactory one.

Are you feeling crushed by academics or expectations for the future? Misunderstood by friends, family, or even yourself as you grow into your own person? Maybe you’re wrestling with anxiety, struggling with self-esteem, or just trying to feel okay. Transitions can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward. Perhaps you’re finding it hard to communicate, set boundaries, or break out of unhealthy patterns. If any of this resonates, you’re not alone. Life can be messy and confusing, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Whether you’re a teen, young adult, or part of a young couple, there is hope.

Are you struggling with sadness? Unhappy in your current life situation? Do you feel stuck? The daily stresses of life can build until we feel completely overwhelmed with life. Sometimes we feel lost, alone, or depressed; we may even feel confused and hopeless about the future. These feelings are very ‘normal,’ yet most of us feel as if we're falling apart. Whether your journey involves healing from childhood wounds, achieving greater self-awareness and self-esteem, or improving relationships, let me help facilitate change using your inner resources, while we work collaboratively in a safe and supportive environment.

With nearly two decades of experience in education and mental health, I bring warmth, clarity, and a grounded presence to my work with both teens and adults. I specialize in helping high functioning individuals who are struggling beneath the surface with anxiety, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, or patterns in relationships that feel hard to shift. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware, but still feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, reactivity, or burnout.

I work with individuals and couples navigating a wide range of life challenges, including trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, and everyday stressors. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore what might be holding you back and gain deeper self-awareness and trust. I believe that as we grow in self-awareness, we can show up more fully in our relationships, pursue our desires with confidence, and move forward with greater compassion toward ourselves. I also believe change is possible when we have a trusting therapist/client relationship to build off.

Are you feeling generally overwhelmed, stuck or lonely in your life or relationships? Are there problems or patterns you're struggling to heal? Relationships have the capacity to affect our lives in really negative ways when they aren't safe and connected. I have a passion for helping couples explore and understand relational wounds so they can heal present problems and find relief from these negative impacts. When relationships are functioning well, they can be a profound source of healing and resiliency - I want my clients to experience this change in, and outside of, the therapy space.

There are points in our life where burdens become too heavy, the way forward too dim, and we lose sight of who we are. I believe suffering is not meant to be endured alone. As a counselor, my hope is to provide a space where there is both warmth and freedom – freedom to show up as you are and walk into light, which is a metaphor that means something different to each person. This often requires courage and time. I will compassionately and respectfully walk with you, as we navigate the path towards healing and wholeness together.
