I enjoy giving people support while helping them manage their panic, depression, complex trauma, anxiety, grief, OCD symptoms, loneliness, PTSD, or relationship issues.
I believe that psychotherapy is an active process resulting in clarity and change. It can help identify ineffective patterns of thinking and behavior, which may create stress, emotional problems, stress related medical problems, addiction problems, and/or relationship problems. Sometimes the work can be difficult but can also be profoundly rewarding and life changing. I believe in the power of positive change and would love to help you turn your stress into a life balance.

I won't pretend to know all the answers, because I believe each of us already holds the knowledge we need to find healing and move towards a meaningful, fulfilling life. My goal as a therapist is to support you in uncovering, exploring, and implementing that knowledge. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and empowering. Whether you're working toward recovery from disordered eating, managing OCD, or processing past experiences that continue to affect you, I aim to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and connected to what matters most in your life.

I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, and co-occurring mental health concerns.
I take a practical, down-to-earth approach to therapy that feels more like a real conversation than a cold or overly clinical experience. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in law enforcement and community corrections, which gives me firsthand understanding of high-stress professions. I am also currently completing EMDR basic training.

Have you experienced adverse life events that have impacted your ability to move forward? Most people experience distress in their lifetime. This distress can often be overwhelming, trigger dysfunction, and impair relationships. When humans are psychologically wounded, we need empathetic, compassionate, and genuine healing. I am also passionate about providing trauma informed care to first responders, law enforcement, medical professionals, mental health professionals, and military members and their families.

If you find yourself obsessing, anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or having problems with relationships give therapy a chance.
I became a therapist because facilitating people's growth during difficult times is my strength, my purpose. I have been assisting people making changes in their lives as long as I remember. Change is difficult but impossible to avoid. Also, mental health, when untreated, can take people down unintended paths. I want to change the stigma of asking for help and spent the last 5 years serving in the US Air Force doing this and I saw the difference it can make. I want people to be comfortable asking "are you thinking of hurting yourself?" I have an open door, glass half full, solution focused mindset. All are welcome so let’s talk.

Anxiety, depression, men's issues, college counseling, trauma, and relationships are just a few of the areas in which I have practiced with clients.
I approach counseling from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral perspective. There are times in life when everything seems to be going well and there are times when we may face challenges or encounter adversity. As a counselor, I believe in supporting the whole person in a safe and judgment free environment as we examine not only the challenges, but the beliefs and cognitions surrounding those challenges. I believe in getting to know you in order to understand your perceptions and the expertise you have within you regarding your own life and experiences.

Maybe anxiety will not let up, depression has drained your motivation, grief keeps resurfacing, or you feel like you have lost touch with who you are.
My style is warm, steady, practical, and depth-oriented. We start with tools for day-to-day stability while also exploring deeper patterns, losses, relationships, and identity. My behavioral health experience spans over two decades, and my years as a backcountry ranger in Glacier National Park's wilderness helped shape my calm, grounded presence in therapy.

Many come to therapy with anxiety, depression, or relationship strain during these transitions.
My approach is relational and analytic. I see symptoms not as flaws to fix, but as the mind’s way of staying safe. Together we explore how these protections shape relationships, self-talk, and the body, helping clients respond to themselves with more clarity, flexibility, and self-trust.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
