I provide social and emotional support to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, substance abuse, and other life stressors. My focus is on seeing the client as a whole person, and not the circumstance they are currently facing.

If you are distressed, you may not find it very helpful or even possible to discuss it with family and friends. However, talking to an objective person (that's me!) can often help you resolve issues. In addition, I perform psychological evaluations for people age 7 through adulthood and specialize in pain evaluations. It's hard to crawl out of the black pit of depression. My life experiences and training give me an excellent perspective to help depressed people climb out of that pit. I also understand how pain can change and restrict your life and can provide coping strategies.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 7 years of experience in the field of social work & mental health. I currently possess a Bachelor's & Master's Degree in Social Work. I have worked within a variety of settings (hospitals, Military, non-profit, Child Protective Services, in-home community services) with diverse individuals & populations that have provided me with valuable experiences. My goal is to provide high quality clinical care, which will be tailored specifically to meet your individual needs. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked in the mental health field for the last ten years. I love working with people who are hurting and have given up hope. Served as an Army Social Work Officer, psychiatric team in Vietnam (1968-69), I treat military, vet & other civilian clients re depression, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, existential malaise, aging, PTSD related to war/hazardous duty -- first responders, natural disasters, accidents, race-related, sexual & other abuse. As a Social Work Professor Emeritus, I counsel re school & life adjustment issues for young adults & non-traditional students. I teach faith-based & secular forms of meditation to address various issues: OCD, mood, anxiety, anger, concentration, trauma...

It is my goal to see the light reignite in a person's eye after they have given up hope for change. I have over 25 years of experience working collaboratively with my clients to find what works for them. I do not have preconceived notions of how to "fix" anyone. We work together to chip away at the issues and create a working plan that helps clients leave feeling better than before after each session.
