Walking sessions typically involve being outside in nature and moving your body while processing thoughts and emotions. Movement and being in nature naturally affect biophysical processes such as increasing endorphins and decreasing stress hormones, supporting the emotional processing that takes place in therapy. Walk and talk sessions can be incredibly useful and effective for those experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions or attentional issues.
The right therapeutic connection is imperative to developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship and process. I provide a warm and non-judgmental space and an individualized approach. We will utilize a combination of interventions that draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, trauma informed treatment and psychodynamic interventions.
