Hello, and thank you for considering working with me. The decision to begin therapy is one that can lead to a greater understanding of yourself and can help you to function better in all areas of your life. I approach counseling as a shared experience focusing on building a trusting relationship with my clients and opening doors to greater self-reflection, insight and empowerment. A successful outcome is one in which you leave knowing yourself better and have the ability to lead a more joyous life going forward.

Throughout my years of experience I have worked with mood disorders; primarily anxiety and depression. Working to help clients understand and identify their own strengths and incorporating coping skills to be exemplify them while processing aspects of the past to create an understand to the causes of our behaviors. Helping other work through transitional periods of life such as work, relationships, school, etc have also been a part of my clinical skills.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 16 years of experience. I use an eclectic approach to therapy so that together we can tailor your therapy experience to your specific needs. I frequently utilize therapeutic interventions from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. I often assist clients in applying practices of Self-Compassion and Mindfulness into their daily lives.

I have been with Integrated Wellness Clinic for two years. I practiced as a Critical Care and Hospice Registered Nurse for almost 20 years until 2004. I have worked with issues such as chronic illnesses, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, addiction and dual diagnosis. Healing from the suffering caused by addiction, mental health, trauma, eating disorders and other co-occurring conditions is not simply about managing life; it is about transforming it. At IWC, we support this trans formative work with approaches that strengthen and nurture mind, body and spirit.

Sometimes our thoughts and feelings result in actions which conflict with our deepest desires. We find ourselves in a deep pit filled with thoughts we cannot seem to stop, or feelings we cannot express or doing things which do not help achieve our goals. I offer telemental health or online counseling through either your computer, i-pad or smart phone. Either media will allow us to search for alternative solutions which enable movement from the "no-way-out pit" to reaching our life purposes.

There are often demands and difficulties that cause us to lose our way. We may find ourselves feeling stressed, anxious, and depressed while trying to cope with daily life.  However, each of us is born with a purpose which has the potential to allow us to be our best. We possess the ability to change our present and our future. Therapy can be the avenue of change in helping us resolve behaviors and thoughts that can hinder our ability to live out our greatest possibilities.

I have specialized training in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal therapy for the treatment of anxiety disorders (including post-traumatic stress, social phobia, generalized anxiety, and other phobias), as well as for depressive disorders and a wide range of other difficulties. I use evidence-based treatment practices, but find the most important factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Without a strong alliance with the client, a therapist is limited in their ability to help the individual effect change.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers empathy and supportive listening in a safe environment . I have experience in working with children, adolescents and adults who has experienced trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and addictions. Included, but not limited to, stress management, depression, anger management, cultural-related issues, life and jobs skills development; behavioral planning, structural learning, crisis intervention, sexual perpetration and victimization, and some case management services.

I work with those suffering from alcoholism and addiction who seek to be free from the personal hell created from it. The goal is to be free from that addictive relationship and form new healthy relationships. Professional literature demonstrates most successful results in treating addiction/alcoholism comes from working in groups with other alcoholics/addicts. However, many struggle with anxiety in group settings and need individual attention before feeling comfortable in a group. I can help.

Claire is invested in an approach emphasizing a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. Claire is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy and Crisis Intervention. Claire has experience with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and group psychotherapy.
