Living with unprocessed trauma can feel like trying to keep a beachball under water. You can do it, but it requires a lot of your energy and if you let your attention slip, it will come exploding to the surface. But we do this because we feel we don’t know what we will do when we have to look the trauma in the face. We fear it will overwhelm us and we won’t be able to cope. But when the pain of your past traumatic event becomes too unbearable, you know that it’s time to do something about it.
Hi, my name is Moriah and I specialize in helping individuals heal from traumatic events. I incorporate a number of modalities in my therapeutic process and work to offer a different experience than the traditional “talk therapy” model. I have specialized training in virtual art therapy, sand tray therapy, and experiential play therapy.
Working through trauma is difficult and our bodies can often process better in a more experiential way. I’ve been told by clients before that I have the ability to gently ask the hard questions that they have been avoiding, yet needed to be asked.
