I work primarily with children aged 3+ who have experienced trauma, and adults who care for them. The children I see are often navigating complex dynamics at home and/or school, and experiencing difficulty with issues such as self-regulation, anger, and anxiety. Adults often report struggles self-regulation, creative motivation and professional burn-out. "(My child) woke up at 6 am the last time he talked to you because he was so excited to chat! He is not typically an early riser so it’s quite the compliment!" (Parent)
Trauma-informed play support is incredibly impactful at all ages, and client-specific. My offices in Bellows Falls have indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as a bunny! Online, we might talk, draw pictures and tell each other stories. Therapeutic play support works by nourishing your own creative impulses.
