I've noticed a trend in our culture today where we often focus on the differences between people, but in reality we have a lot more in common. We are all going through life experiencing similar struggles with worry, stress, perfectionism, comparison, loneliness, grief, etc. We also share so many life experiences and transitions with one another whether it's going through starting a career, marriage, divorce, parenthood, aging, losing a loved one, or having relationship difficulties, we can all relate and connect. Oftentimes though, we need additional support through these transitions.

Everyone has a story, and it is a powerful thing to be able to tell our story without shame. We all have chapters that are difficult to look back on, and when we can compassionately make the connection between our past and our present, we can begin to imagine what our next unwritten chapter might hold for us (and how we'd like to choose to get there). The more we embrace our story, and who we are right now, the more tools we have for navigating our next adventure, and I would love to help be a resource to do just that.

Hello and welcome. I am interested in working with adolescents and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns and/or a desire for greater self-understanding and well being. I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate the journey of becoming parents and the ongoing work of parenting. In the past few years I have spent time working with refugee families. It has been a true joy working with people from diverse backgrounds and I hope to continue supporting our new neighbors on their journey to stability and belongingness.

People are often remarkably resilient, capable of enduring many difficult and sometimes horrific circumstances. However, trauma does not simply disappear; it can have lasting effects on our bodies, minds, and behaviors. Therapy can be a powerful tool to help you, your child, and your family confront these wounds and begin the process of healing.

In art therapy, we make things together to create a bridge to communication, sometimes staying in the metaphor, and other times using the art product as a jumping off point for verbal discussion. When using narrative therapy, we find new and creative ways to look at old, unproductive stories. We create goals together. I provide the solid, predictable framework and ongoing support, as well as parent coaching. We create opportunities for deep insight, meaningful growth and healthy risk-taking.

I would be honored to get to know your child and offer behavioral, emotional, social, and relational support through therapeutic play. At times, children demonstrate a need for extra help in their development. They may be struggling with big feelings and anxiety, in relationships with family or peers, or to cope with traumatic events and life transitions. I facilitate children's connection to and strengthening of their internal resources while offering a space to process, express, and heal through play, which is the language of children. I also work with families to support the adult-child relationship.

As an individual with personal life experience, I know what it is like to be in a place where you just need someone to talk to that "gets it." Someone who can listen, hold space, and connect with you on a level that lets you know you're right where you need to be. As a licensed therapist, I bring both life and professional experience to the table. Whether you're facing past trauma, anxiety, depression, life stressors, family stress, or need someone to listen, I will meet you where you are to provide a safe space and work alongside you to help you find your way. I see people as the experts on themselves, as you know you best.

I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety and depression, many of whom have a history of trauma and some of whom are neurodivergent.
I have come to understand that much of our pain comes from things that strain or break our connection to others or that interfere with achieving our goals. I’m guessing if you’re reading this, you are in a hard spot in your life. It will get better. In therapy, you will learn more about yourself and how your past is adversely shaping your today. I will bring my experience and training to help in the process of overcoming your roadblocks to happiness.
