The work of a clinical neuropsychologist is to clarify post-injury or developmental brain/behavior/cognitive problems caused by acquired brain injury, stroke, neurologic disease, verbal & non-verbal learning problems. The use of standard-of -care objective neuropsychological testing is the primary method used to clarify or support a diagnosis.
If your current treatment is not progressing, psychological evaluation may pinpoint causes underlying slow progress. It can also provide a second opinion regarding diagnosis or treatment & recommendations. In disabling conditions, the nature & extent of neurobehavioral impairment(s) is documented. A doctor’s referral for the eval is needed for coverage.
Dr. English clinically trained at Walter Reed National Medical Center, Washington DC. His graduate degrees include the University of California, Berkeley and Denver University. His specialty boards include both Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. He is a veteran and served a neuropsychologist on active duty at Brooke Medical Center during the Gulf War.
