About
I provide research-based treatment for anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I use Exposure and Ritual Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and supervise other therapists using these techniques. I help couples in distress and offer family counseling, especially when a family member suffers from major mental illness. I also work with people struggling with ethnic identity issues. I have published multiple research papers on anxiety disorders and conduct trainings at national conferences. I am on the Scientific Advisory Board of IOCDF and BTTI Faculty. I am a member of ABCT, ADAA, and APA.
Much of my practice is devoted to the treatment of OCD, including phobias, checking, sexual obsessions (HOCD), health anxiety, hoarding, and unwanted thoughts. I use behavioral techniques to achieve rapid results. I also work with people who want to improve the quality of their relationships.
I am licensed to practice psychology in three states. I studied at MIT, UCLA, and University of Virginia. I was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where I trained under Dr. Edna Foa, and am I currently faculty in the Department of Psychology at the University of Connecticut.

Online OCD Support Group
The OCD Support Group is an online group of 6-8 male and female adults that have struggled with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or a similar issue. The group focuses on issues that can be barriers to treatment progress, such as feelings of isolation, loneliness, social withdrawal, stress, family and relationship discord, untrustworthiness, lack of motivation, difficulty making decisions, and being overwhelmed. This group enables members to recognize that they are not alone with experiencing these issues and begin to build rapport with others.
