An awareness of our inner state of being and how to connect with the stillness is an important part of our journey to wellness and well-being. I offer this to all of my clients. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25+ years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in residential treatment, outpatient behavioral health and hospice care. I have also worked with adults providing individual, couples therapy, and hospice care. For 10 years, I worked with military families in the D.C. area addressing issues around military life, deployment, resilience, and mental health.
I believe in the importance of a collaborative approach with individuals to identify and address treatment goals. I utilize evidenced-based treatments, with a strengths-based approach, to include CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, behavior modification, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness and psychodynamic therapy.
Through my years of work with these challenges, I have learned the value of resilience and finding ways to strengthen it. I strive to connect and engage with clients in the therapeutic process. We all have strengths and strive for wellness. Walking that path with my clients is a privilege.
