As a queer, first-gen, Asian (Filipinx) immigrant, I understand the importance of strengthening your relationship with your Self, deconstructing harmful narratives, and finding sense of belonging. Together, we can work to bring awareness to, and disrupt, the systems of oppression that inform the ways in which we take up space. In a world that constantly takes and restricts, this is one space that solely belongs to you. I center decolonial and abolitionist theories within my therapeutic approach in working with queer and/or trans People of the Global Majority and their intersecting marginalized identities. Most of my clients are working through intergenerational/systemic trauma, family dynamics/conflict, attachment concerns, and self-liberation, among others.
Let's be real - balancing roles such as student, worker, parent, friend, activist, and partner - along with just being a person - can feel close to impossible. I encourage you to embrace all the facets of your identity, even the ones you've been conditioned to reject. Or don't. That's cool too. We'll work on it. :)
