| español Hello! My name is Monica Terpening. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having graduated from The University of Louisiana with my master's degree in Social work with a concentration in Mental Health. I am trauma trained and have worked with clients to help address trauma, grief, anxiety, attachment and adjustment/ life transitions. I enjoy helping equip clients with a wide skill set that will help them effectively navigate their lives as well as address trauma they have endured. I am bilingual (Spanish-English) and use an eclectic approach when helping clients meet their therapeutic goals, which include but are not limited to, EMDR, person-centered, solution focused, strengths-based, attachment-based, and trauma informed.
My goal as a counselor is to meet clients where they are at, providing a safe space for them to gain resources and skills to help them in their journey. I enjoy working with individuals in different stages in life, from life transitions to dealing with trauma.
