I specialize in maternal mental health with a focus on the prevention, assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I work with mothers and fathers who are struggling with adjustment to parenthood, infertility, birth trauma, NICU experiences and medical complications related to pregnancy and child birth.
I also enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues and difficult life transitions.
Another area of clinical interest is addressing compassion fatigue and burnout among clinicians and staff in health care settings.
My therapeutic approach is warm, accepting and collaborative. I encourage a relationship of trust and a sense of safety for my clients. I work with clients to treat their symptoms and manage stressors more effectively, to enhance self-awareness, and to discover their inner strength and resilience. I support the client's continued growth and self care.
As a clinician, I see each individual client as a unique person. Given this, I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client's needs and to each client's strengths. I integrate evidence based therapeutic approaches into my work with clients, including interpersonal, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based techniques.
