Hello! I’m Monica, and I do depth-oriented, psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I love helping people feel more fully themselves, connected to others, and at home inside. The journey inward is the road home. To me, therapy is a creative, transformative space where growth, change and healing begin to flow out of a strong connection. This is work that goes deep and takes time. Together, we can look at how your present is shaped by formative experiences in your life. With couples, this framework can help improve your communication and patterns of relating based on a compassionate understanding of one another.
By putting the pieces together, we can get to the heart of issues like depression, anxiety, trauma-related patterns, relationship issues, complicated grief, feeling stuck or stagnant, and identity in its many facets. Complex PTSD, early trauma, abuse and neglect are areas I focus on, and issues of social justice are important to me.
I am also alive to and ever curious about the mind-body connection. I have training as a rehabilitation psychologist working in physical medicine and rehabilitation. I use this experience base with clients who have chronic pain and health conditions so that we can appreciate the interplay of physical and mental health and work towards better days.
