I completed my undergraduate studies at Oberlin College, my post-baccalaureate studies at Columbia University, and my doctorate at LIU, Brooklyn. I have provided therapy and assessments to kids, teens, adults, and couples in varied settings, including urban inpatient/outpatient programs, VA hospitals, community clinics, and psychoanalytic institutes. Currently, outside of my private practice, I am engaging my passion for attachment and maternal/infant/early childhood mental health as a Perinatal Psychologist at The Motherhood Center or NY. I provider therapy to women and couples who are trying to conceive, pregnant, and postpartum.
My theoretical approach is integrative, grounded largely in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory, while also incorporating CBT, DBT, ACT, interpersonal, existential, and trauma-specific/affect-focused modalities. I emphasize the links between past and present, encouraging a deeper understanding of the impact of your early life on your current struggles.
Once we've developed a secure, trusting rapport, I'll push you to examine your unconscious emotions, motivations, and defenses. I'll also intersperse coping skills and trauma processing/somatic regulation techniques tailored uniquely to your needs. My style is warm, open and collaborative, and I will regularly invite your feedback about our work together.
