Authentic interaction, compassion, and curiosity are central to my work as a relational and experiential therapist. I believe that human development, personality, and mental health are primarily shaped by where we come from: interpersonal relationships (namely our earliest attachments) and the culture and social values that shape our lives. Building more secure connections with others is required to break repetitive cycles in life and to heal from trauma. Therapy can be that secure base.
I prioritize a whole-person approach: thoughts, emotions, body awareness, breath, nervous system, choices. We are all of this.
I work with adults and couples, those struggling with predictable lifespan challenges (including chronic illness and death) and those that encounter tragic and unanticipated events. I use trauma-informed “top down” modalities including EMDR and “bottom up” approaches involving breath & mindfulness practices - all offered with a lot of compassion.
“Always we begin again” is a favorite reminder of mine that we can start over after failure, shortcomings, or simply to start a new day.
