We all need support at times. I cater my approach based on the needs of each individual and my goal is to help navigate change or obstacles while fostering growth. I am trauma-informed and my approach to therapy is warm and person-centered. The idea of processing and working through trauma can be overwhelming. You are the expert on yourself, and I aim to provide a space where you can be authentic and feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Sessions with children and teens can vary, including processing environmental changes, developing relaxation skills such as deep breathing, and increasing coping skills. I am able to family therapy as it can provide skill building, promote positive relationships, address communication deficits and offer a place to safely address conflicts.
I have received specialized training to work with survivors of trauma, including those of any age impacted by domestic violence and intimate partner violence. I am certified as an Advanced Trauma Practitioner through the National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children and I have a background working with trauma, grief and loss in all ages.
