After years of working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and specializing in trauma informed therapy I see trauma as the root cause most common mental health struggles such as anxiety and depression. These are responses to ongoing overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, and unresolved emotions about what happened. I often work with people who have learned to people please, overextend, mask emotions, and put off self-care as a way to survive in a dysfunctional environment.
My goal is to create a safe non-judgmental space where you can explore patterns that were born out of survival and/or dysfunction through a lense of compassion and understanding for what you've lived through. From there, we can begin to build skills for emotional regulation and rework old patterns that no longer contribute to your overall wellbeing.
I encourage my clients to work at their own pace and set goals that are meaningful to them. My approach blends traditional talk therapy with somatic healing, mindfulness, and parts work to help clients rewire their nervous systems and heal.
