I have more than twenty years experience in behavioral medicine, and more than 30 years in helping professions. Using a wide range of expertise and training I treat diverse concerns of pre-teen through older adult clients. By varying treatment with a number of approaches, I strive to tailor therapy to the person, not just the problems identified. As I reflect upon my life I noticed people who laid up for me a legacy, a promise and hope. The most influential people who have impacted my life and who established a legacy for me were my grandparents. They established a legacy, it was the legacy of care, compassion, and goodwill to mankind. I saw kindness, love, patience, meekness, faithfulness, and gentleness and these are the qualities I bring into the therapeutic relationships.

I have been in private clinical practice for 22 years. I have specifically trained to work with children, adolescents, young adults and older adults. My time is spent fairly equally working with mental health and substance abuse issues. Likewise, I have chosen to not focus on one specific age group, finding it to be more satisfying to see various aged people. I spend the most time with young adults, from ages of 16-26. I enjoy working with couples; though challenging, I can often offer a safe place for them to listen to one another.

Carrie received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Michigan State University and her Masters of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. She began her clinical practice at the Children's Center in Detroit. She was subsequently the Child and Family Therapist for Central MI Community Mental Health and started seeing clients in a private practice setting in 2003. Carrie has also taught Sociology classes at the collegiate level. Carrie has experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults on a wide variety of issues. A lifelong believer in the innate health of all people, Carrie utilizes a strengths-based approach with care and compassion.
