I have over 20 years of experience providing therapy and support to those who struggle with depression, anxiety, interpersonal and family conflicts, job related stress, behavioral issues in children, parenting concerns and the impact of trauma, illness and life transitions. I am particularly interested in supporting families in their relationships with one another and I believe in encouraging choices that are nurturing to all family members.

Creating a safe space for individuals to thrive, grow, and find courage to tell their story, is what I believe my role to be as a counselor. Often times we run from our pain and avoid facing what has been hurting us all these years. It is my belief that counseling provides a neutral and compassionate environment to process through this pain, and finally discover the relief we have been looking for. My goal in treatment is to provide an environment where my clients feel they have the support and validation they need to overcome the issues that lead them to seek out treatment.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist I specialize in sexual addiction work for men and women transitioning from sexual addiction to healthy sexuality, and partners and couples dealing with sexual addiction. Groups provided: sex addiction, partner of sexual addict, couples dealing with sexual addiction, and love addiction. Strong focus on couples counseling, premarital counseling using Prepare/Enrich assessment tools. Expertise with sexual therapy for couples and individuals. Specialty dealing with narcissistic people and assisting clients with great transitional challenges. I am skilled in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including Mindfulness Based CBT and Trauma Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I believe that everyone has to cope with life changes, relationship struggles, substance abuse, and other mental health issues and sometimes, finding a successful way to cope with these changes can be hard. I strive to work collaboratively with people who want help to understand the life changes and develop strategies to cope. Therapeutically, I work with clients from a humanistic, client-centered ideology. However, I do not believe there is only one approach to working with someone and instead prefer to collaborate with clients to find an approach that works for them to make counseling a successful experience.
