Any St. Louis rehabilitation center can provide treatment; MIA provides the difference. There are many drug rehab centers, but few of these rehab centers compare to Midwest Institute for Addiction's programs. This differentiation goes beyond our comprehensive, individualized, and evidence based treatment model and focuses on the quality of services that we offer. There is a lack of separation in the minds of professional service providers when considering the difference between a product offered and the service that coincides with that product. The MIA difference is the ability to offer quality services that coincide with our quality treatment.

An IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) offers more care than weekly therapy, but less than inpatient hospitalization. We work with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, or struggling to cope with life stressors who need more support than weekly therapy. Our 6 week program is designed to help both caregivers and teenagers develop skills to effectively manage life's challenges, communicate better, and build self-confidence for more successful life experiences. We've designed our program to take place outside of school hours to minimize absences and promote overall well-being.

I seriously enjoy working toward that day when you can say to me, "I really think I'm doing BETTER!" So, I look forward to walking alongside you toward significant growth in your life and relationships. Often that means working through the anxieties, thoughts and traumas that have been part of your current and past struggles. As well, it can mean focusing on a STRATEGY for "what's the next right step". I believe you can borrow from my HOPE, borrow from my INSIGHT and borrow from my EXPERIENCE as we create your own plan to make "better" days.

I provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive enviornment where I guide individuals and couples to help them overcome mental health and emotional issues to bring about a new level of awareness and change. This is done by identifying and understanding the underlying causes, changing destructive thought patterns, and behaviors. I am also a certified Thai Yoga therapist. I keep both practices separate in that I do not do psychotherapy with Thai Yoga clients or vice versa.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or major life changes. You might also be trying to navigate the stress of a loved one’s addiction or recovery. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure where to begin. I enjoy working with people who are ready to better understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, and start building healthier and more fulfilling lives.

We all seek to belong and to be accepted for who we are. When our experiences or relationships lead us to feel negative about ourselves or develop anxiety, we can lose hope. We can develop unhealthy coping strategies or ways of interacting with others that can be harmful to ourselves physically or emotionally. These can lead us to feeling out of control and present with conflicts in our relationships closest to us. I believe we can work together to find hope and create solutions. Let's work together to transform how you feel instead of living a life just coping with how you feel.

Every person has skills they have developed for themselves as well as personal challenges. Working from a foundation of respect for individual and family strengths and abilities, I provide a comfortable place for folks to identify and explore issues that may be getting in the way of happy and healthy relationships. Issues could be life changes such as divorce or a death, struggles in school or work, or problems with friends and family. It could also be due to issues of neurodiversity which can impact communication. Together we can work to address the present day issues as well as the underlying causes.
