I am here to partner with you and your family, in whatever shape it appears! My approach is very solutions-focused and strengths-based.
You are tired of fighting, having to explain yourself, being disappointed, and grieving the life you planned as a child. Parenting is one of the HARDEST and most fulfilling experiences that one can have in this lifetime, but it can sometimes feel like a constant battle. If you toss in co-parenting with an ex- partner , trying to integrate a new partner into your "ready-made" family, and/or being a caregiver to a family member due to unfavorable circumstances, things get a lot more complicated. Being the child in these situations, can be even harder to navigate because everything can feel so unstable. All of it feels exhausting!

NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: Email to be added to the waitlist. As a father of three children, and a husband of over 20 years, I understand many of the challenges that family life presents. I have seen successful professional men and women feel defeated by the struggles they face at home. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals and couples as they change painful patterns and find joy they previously thought impossible. It sometimes is a long, difficult journey; but it does not have to be traveled alone.

Our clients often identify as LGBTQIA+ / Queer, Non-monogamous, sex positive or sex neutral, neurodivergence, and or disabled and living within Missouri. Clients often start therapy to work on goals to learn more about identities, setting boundaries with others in their lives, opening up their relationship , learning more about themselves or others gender or sexual expression. Through individual, relationship , or family counseling we work to increase healthy communication based on our values, instead of assumed social norms.

Typically, we wear many hats and life “tries” to deter us from making time for self-care. However, YOU are important so, give yourself permission to put YOU at the top of your to-do list. Self-care is not selfish, it is essential….YOU are essential. My goal is to support my clients holistically…..mentally, spiritually, socially, and physically. My clients are actively involved in their treatment plan that is tailored to their unique selves. I see clients for individual, couples , and family therapy. I support my clients with concerns around depression, anxiety, stress, and health management.

As we build a relationship , I will, at times, challenge inconsistencies that come up.
Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out for support. I know it's not easy. I’d love to connect with you to help you learn to manage your emotions and identify coping skills that work for you. I’m an unbiased space that gives your room to explore, process emotions and challenges. We can work together to figure out what’s not working and what can help you feel better. I want to see you improve and help you feel like yourself again. I treat therapy as a conversation that helps you talk out anxieties, worries, stress and other topics to help untangle and reorganize your thoughts.

I work with women to help rebuild a relationship with themselves that tells them they are good, and that the adversity they have experienced is not their fault. Many of my clients have experienced relational trauma that has silenced their voice, disconnected them from their emotions and bodily experience. I enjoy working with women on various issues including emotional abuse, powerlessness, relational issues (mother-daughter relationships), boundary issues, anxiety, depression, confusion and anger. I focus my energy into creating a safe space where you can begin to know and trust yourself, experiencing a sense of empowerment.

I believe each of us deserves support on this winding and unpredictable journey of life. How we take care of our mental health impacts every aspect of our lives--our relationships, our work, our creative output, and more. At the same time, it can take a lot of courage to take a step forward to do this work. Maybe you’re ready to face past experiences of trauma or loss. Maybe you want to redefine your relationship with yourself--body, mind, spirit. Or maybe you see a pattern in the way you show up in relationships with others and you want to make a change.

Hellooo! Thanks for making time to be here today. If you're here, I'm wondering if you've asked yourself important questions such as: When was the last time you were asked what you needed? What does acceptance look like in your life? How can you live your most authentic self? What does it look like creating an environment for yourself to be successful? If you find yourself resonating with these questions, then you're more than likely seeking a provider who can help you achieve your goals, and maybe that's me! I encourage you to make an appointment today to find out.

My areas of work in couples and family therapy include infidelity, finances in couples , sex disorders, domestic violence, parenting strategies for adolescents and teens, family communication, adjustments to divorce, and caregiving for chronic illness and disease.
Our lives can be filled with so many obstacles and challenges on a daily basis. Whether these challenges are personal, family, work or peers, we sometimes need to get additional perspectives and clarity on some of life's most pressing issues. I view therapy as a way for clients to seek personal growth and find helpful solutions moving forward. I use humor, compassion and unconditional support to help individuals, couples and families work through a variety of presenting issues. My goal is to help clients resolve the main problem in therapy and help them gain additional strengths and insights in their lives.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
