Clients work best with me when their goal is to strengthen relationships, when they feel stuck in relationship patterns that are no longer serving them, as they are navigating systems of oppression and questioning dominate narratives, and developing possibility models of what self-compassion healing could be.

We may be a good fit if you want to shift your relationship with shame, your core beliefs, and your body.
The systems we live within (capitalism, racism, sexism, fatphobia, etc.) and our early attachment experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from others, our bodies, our values, and our authentic selves. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore with you and acknowledge the ways these systems have impacted and neglected you. Together, we'll develop resources, skills, and insights to make your life and relationships more manageable and meaningful.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and I will be as honest, transparent, and vulnerable with you as you are with me.
I see therapy as a unique space where you are free to show up exactly as you are in that moment. A safe place to practice being your truest self; to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement, and feel seen, accepted, and genuinely cared for in return. It's a chunk of time that is solely for you and whatever you may need. Some days that might be exploring your innermost feelings, some days that might be venting about your tough day at work. I provide space to navigate hardships together, celebrate your growth and successes, to laugh and cry and everything in between.

My work is focused on creating a safe, warm, and inviting space for individuals and couples to receive therapy. Many of the couples I work with experience poor communication, lack of trust, and resistance to change. I believe those who are open to change and self-awareness are those who will benefit the most. I also enjoy working with individuals. You may be struggling with interpersonal issues. You may feel unsure of your identity and of the things you want in life. For both couples and individuals, my job is to walk with you on the path toward happiness and contentedness.

I partner with clients in order to support specific needs in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress, relational issues, spiritual concerns, and maternal mental health.
I value the counseling setting as a place to discuss all thoughts and feelings freely and without fear of judgment so that new associations can be made, and emotional isolation can be replaced with connection. When we understand and accept ourselves, growth and healing can occur! I create a safe space where individuals can first understand how their personal experiences have impacted their lives and then collaborate with clients in order to establish authentic insights that will shape their stories moving forward.

Are you just f-ing tired? If you're exhausted with feeling inadequate, anxious, or overwhelmed- you've come to the right place. My work with individuals and couples is based on building communication skills. Knowing how to communicate with your partner , boss, friends-and even yourself-is not something you're born with. Struggling to communicate your needs, wants, and boundaries can make life feel like an uphill battle. Some common themes that might bring you to therapy are: chronic illness, breakups, work stress, grief, trauma, and family "drama."

Our clients often identify as LGBTQIA+ / Queer, Non-monogamous, sex positive or sex neutral, neurodivergence, and or disabled and living within Missouri. Clients often start therapy to work on goals to learn more about identities, setting boundaries with others in their lives, opening up their relationship , learning more about themselves or others gender or sexual expression. Through individual, relationship , or family counseling we work to increase healthy communication based on our values, instead of assumed social norms.

Have you ever felt like your life is an emotional rollercoaster? I certainly have. Those rides can be thrilling at times, but can also leave you tense and terrified afterwards. Maybe you feel hopeless, mentally exhausted, stuck in a relationship , or overwhelmed with ongoing intrusive thoughts. Perhaps you are not satisfied with your overall quality of life, or you are unsure of how to move forward. Whatever brought you here is valid, and I believe that you are ready to work on it.

My focus is to develop a trusting and caring relationship where we can uncover the patterns that keep you stuck and help you find your way to lasting change.
When we are free to explore and express ourselves in a nurturing environment we often find that our solutions are tucked away in our own minds. The process of understanding and hearing ourselves in the privacy of the therapeutic space, and having our inner voice reflected and supported by an attuned therapist, allows us to formulate a plan of action that we can use to live authentically.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
