If you have answered yes to any of these questions...... I am so happy that you are here. Life can be so unpredictable and feel as if your feet have been knocked right from under you without warning. Whether it be little moments or big ones, it is my belief that we have all experienced some degree of trauma in life. No matter the degree, the impact on us can be significant. In trying to make sense of these experiences, we can all benefit from having witnesses to our experiences and pain. We are not meant to live life alone. For many this leads us to look for a therapist. As a therapist, but also just as a person, it is an honor each time I am invited to bear witness to someone else's story.

I help people with complex lives, who are struggling with grief, anxiety, and other issues. I am known for being professional, empathetic, and pragmatic. I help people make changes in what they can control: their perceptions and their responses. I also help people let go of what they cannot control, in order to focus on what will help them the most: managing their own body, mind, and heart. I help people create a stronger sense of self, empowered with purpose.

Are you feeling stuck or overwhelmed? Are you struggling with trauma, anxiety, or depression? Things are a lot right now, and it's okay to seek help. I offer holistic somatic therapy that can help you have a deeper connection to yourself, your body and emotions, for greater resilience for everything life throws at you. Somatic therapy facilitates healing from the inside out. I don't tell you to think more positively, or that you have "faulty thinking" - instead we can work with your body together so that you can actually experience a sense of safety, a sense of your self, and live a more fulfilling, embodied and connected life.

My ideal client is a woman who appears high-functioning but feels emotionally exhausted inside. She may carry unresolved trauma, relationship wounds, chronic stress, or burnout and feels stuck despite insight or previous therapy. She wants relief, clarity, and a felt sense of safety in her body—not just coping tools. She values privacy, depth, and efficiency and is ready to invest in meaningful healing that helps her move forward rather than repeat the same emotional cycles.

You may be carrying more than anyone realizes—relationship strain, anxiety that won’t quiet, stress that lives in your body, or the aftershocks of medical or emotional trauma. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward, you don’t have to navigate it alone. For over 10 years, I’ve worked as a medical social worker in both medical and mental health hospital settings, supporting women through some of life’s most vulnerable moments. From inpatient to outpatient care, I’ve walked alongside individuals facing complex medical challenges, trauma, relationship transitions, and emotional burnout.

Life just is messy. Your story has held unbelievable joy, unspeakable pain, or maybe it's just too confusing to put words to, yet. But something nudged you here, and I bet it feels like you're stuck and don't know the way forward. Whether you are a teen, an adult, or a couple, I would be honored to hear. I will walk with you and we will untangle your origins and put words to the fears and longings. Whether the issues are identity formation, loneliness, anxiety, depression, spirituality or relational struggles, or conflict, there is hope beyond what you can see right now. I want you to feel whole again.

With over ten years of experience as a counselor and pastor, I know very well the joys and pains of life as a Christian.
I come to the counseling room as a fellow traveller with a strong desire to create emotional and spiritual safety, regardless of what must be faced. Much of my experience has been focused on helping men find hope and a voice amid brokenness, loneliness, and relational trouble. I meet with individuals wrestling with anxiety, depression, past or present abuse, sexual confusion, sexual addiction, and spiritual and emotional health in general. Real relief and real growth are really possible!

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
