Healing Touch is an energy modality that can help reduce pain, anxiety , and stress, making space for well being, peace, and self wisdom.
*Working online only* A truth I have learned in my own life is that the human heart cannot heal on its own. Our hearts need the presence of another. Our emotions, spirit, and body are often speaking to us, which can be scary and confusing. Healing is a process that takes time, attunement, and courage. My desire is that my clients would feel emotionally safe and supported in therapy as they learn to heal themselves.

Whether you are dealing with symptoms of depression, anxiety , struggling with anger/irritability, purpose/direction, and identity.
6-8 sessions may be all you need. Do you often think/say to yourself: “I should know this?” “I’ve read all the self-help books.” “I’ve done therapy in the past.” "I was doing great." “What are you going to tell me that I don’t already know?” or "I have never done this before" I get it. I work with negative, self-limiting beliefs and past traumas that may be holding you back.

I’m passionate about working with challenges such as anxiety , depression, sexual shame, LGBTQIA+, codependency, perfectionism, racial trauma, eco- anxiety , and re-constructing spiritual identity.
Hello Friend! Feel free to call me Jazz or Jazzy. I’m a curious person who loves helping my fellow humans find their way back home to themselves. This can mean different things depending on the individual, which is why we will work together to decide what it means for you. You’re the expert on your lived experience, I’m the one with the student debt for this degree, and we will work as a team to meet your therapeutic goals. My intention in sessions is to provide a safe place where you can finally set down some of the heavy burdens like anxiety , self-harm, shame, and trauma and begin to unpack them.

I have 25 years of experience in mental health, working in a Cognitive Behavioral framework with clients dealing with a variety of issues including: depression/ anxiety , LGBT issues, codependency, relationship issues and religious/spiritual issues.
If you are exploring the option of therapy, you may have already made attempts to improve your situation on your own. You may feel depressed, anxious or lack assertiveness. Though you desire to make a change, you may be skeptical about the idea of counseling. You may also feel that finding a therapist who listens without judgment and who balances honest feedback with empathy, is a confusing and difficult task. If this describes your situation, I hope that I might have the opportunity to speak with you about a practical strategy to bring about the change you desire.

From the very beginning, with sensitivity and compassion, I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space in which you can express thoughts, feelings, dreams, and desires that you may feel unable to share elsewhere. I believe that constructive change occurs when we work collaboratively to develop insight into your current struggles; only then can we find ways to help you move forward. I have experience and interest in working with adults and older adolescents with anxiety , trauma histories, creative people, and those who wish to explore various aspects of their identities, including people who are LGBTQ+.

Issues include addiction, depression, anxiety , ptsd, relationships, and habit control.
2021, and the task of therapy is understanding the "mood" behind the mask that we all must wear. Isolated from friends, we struggle to work and manage family responsibilities within the walls of our home without the balance we would receive from our workplace, our gym, our clubs, or our church. Therapy is now online...but this format comes easily over a safe format allowing a relaxing and professional conversation in my online therapy office. You will be heard, and come away with strategies for managing your moods and recognizing possibilities in your current situation. You are not alone! Sign up for therapy help now!

Whether it’s anxiety , depression, identity, relationships, or grief that’s brought you here.
The world becomes a better place when we humans learn we are amazing; just for being human. Some, especially Black and Brown humans, suffer from living in cultures and systems that dehumanize them, keeping them from this realization. Therapy is one tool we can use to heal these wounds and create better communities. I believe that Black and Brown people need and deserve representation and validation of their experiences. I believe that everyone is the expert of their own story, the captain of their own ship.

Life can present us with a myriad of troubles. Sometimes we get stuck in survival mode; we’ve spent years just getting by or we’ve been knee deep in struggle. Maybe you’re tired? Tired of sadness, anger, hopelessness, physical pain, and anxiety . You’re ready for change, but need someone you can be honest with. Someone who won’t judge you, but will gently help you walk in new paths and gain the freedom and healing that you long for.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing anxiety , depression, grief or life transitions; chronic illness, or trauma.
Making the choice to start therapy can feel daunting, but it can be a rewarding and healing experience. Therapy is a space where you can express thoughts and feelings without judgment. You can explore and heal, learn and observe, and work towards the goals and values that you identify as important. I assist people in discovering peace and comfort within their lives through coping skills, mindfulness practices, and self compassion, as well as exploring and healing from past experiences and traumas.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
