I understand that life can get messy, and there will be times when we feel like we get stuck and can’t move forward. Sometimes we all need a little help embracing the mess, organizing it, cleaning it up, and learn new ways to walk through the mess in the future. If you feel like this is where you are at, take a deep breath; you’re not alone, and I’m here to help.
Taking the steps to find a therapist is a courageous leap in your journey. I take pride in helping clients process difficult emotions and create a new self. Your issue, need, or goal will be unique, but I strive to provide a therapeutic benefit to assist you in this difficult process.
I believe people are more than their diagnosis. Yes, a diagnosis is a tool but it is not the big picture. I come from a place of curiosity and wonder, wanting to know my clients on a deeper level so that I can help them navigate this world. For example, PTSD is a big diagnosis that is thrown around; yet, it doesn't paint the full picture. It doesn't reflect someone's experiences, triggers, how this is impacting their relationships, family history, the strengths they possess etc. Adolescents are my passion however, I also enjoy and work closely with families and adults.

Hi. Thank you for taking a look at my counseling profile. I love counseling and have been practicing for 30 years. One of the things I've noticed new clients are concerned about is being able to express themselves without being judged, as well as if the experience will be awkward. In all my years of practicing, I've heard almost everything imaginable and judgment is not a part of how I work. Everything in my office is 100% confidential and safe. I know how to ask the right question and keep the conversation flowing.
Accepting New Clients-As we go through life, it can deliver trials, obstacles, and you may be on an ongoing roller coaster ride; and through these trying situations, you may feel out of control, hopeless, and ponder whom you can seek for help. Starting therapy can seem overwhelming, but I am here to guide the way. Counseling is personable and distinctive; I believe your therapeutic journey should lead to positive changes in your life by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) practices.

I know it is tough if not impossible to deal alone with many of the significant challenges we face such as addictions. In beginning a support system through counseling you are not alone but working as a team where we will utilize my education and professional experiences along with your invaluable input on your experiences and efforts in recovery. I have been a counselor in various settings including a drug treatment program as a family therapist and a senior counselor. It is vital to have a detailed plan for recovery from addiction. After primary treatment and twelve-step groups, aftercare is where I would be a part of the team.
