I am a Christian woman who would like to work with all people regardless of their belief system or personal history.
There are times when problems can cause major disruptions in our lives and/or they are too difficult to talk about with our family and friends. It is at these times when one should seek out professional help. I believe that every individual has strengths and abilities they are able to use to address problems in life. I believe that through the process of therapy you can better understand yourself and use that enhanced understanding for making new decisions and new actions for a better future.

Many successful women have struggled with a pattern of toxic, abusive relationships. You feel invisible, unloveable, unseen, frustrated, and angry. You aren't valuing yourself, and you continue to find yourself in these types of unhealthy alliances - it's a pattern that leaves you depleted, anxious and depressed. I help women BREAK OUT OF THAT CYCLE, and shift into a vibrant life that includes rewarding work, peace, joy, and happy healthy relationships.

My desire is to help other women successfully handle the many problems they face.
My objective is assisting clients with developing healthy relationships with marriage/family and couples counseling. My husband and I have 47 years of marriage. It took both of us being committed to the marriage and willing to compromise. I also work with clients who are experiencing issues with anger, grief, depression/anxiety, and stress. The sessions are designed to help clients find the answers from within themselves; and therefore, achieving lives filled with purpose, peace, and well-being. We all deserve happiness! Call me and let's work together in helping you reach your goals

As a woman , you experience the intense anxiety of being the "perfect" spouse, parent, and/or adult child. You may be tired of feeling unseen, unheard, and alone. You might experience reoccurring intrusive thoughts of “am I messing it all up?” or "am I making the right parenting/life choices?" Even worse, the difficulty in saying "no" means far more on your plate than possible. Feeling anything else may seem like a distant memory. But one thing is for sure: you're ready for some relief! You're ready to feel seen and heard! But most of all you're ready to feel safely and securely connected to the most important people in your life!

I love working with women who currently identify as a “hot mess” and are ready to make a change, but not sure how.
I know why you’re here. You constantly feel on edge and overthink everything. You have anxiety about having anxiety (yes, that’s a thing). Your schedule is booked. You’re a student, young professional, or mom just trying to keep it all together (along with your sanity). Self-care who? You ended your relationship, ate an entire pint of ice cream, and ugly cried. It sucked. Now you're trying to recover what's left of your self-esteem. You’re going through a quarter life crisis. You’re questioning your life plans and trying to figure out how to be a "real adult" whatever that means.

As a fat queer woman myself I’ve been there, healed, and can help you get the vibrant life that you want.
Loving your larger body is the shit. You don't need to take a quiz to know that you have low self-esteem, or that it’s related to having a larger body. You may find yourself hating yourself, putting yourself down constantly, dieting, shifting the conversation back to other people so that you don’t have to talk about your unworthy self, following all of the rules so that you don’t get hurtful critical feedback, putting everyone else’s needs first, or not being able to say no. If you're also LGBTQ+ in Mo then you're facing even more hurdles. If you feel like a lot of these apply to you, then you likely also feel some unworthiness.

I strive to provide a space where women and families feel seen, heard and supported, with the belief that you are the expert on your life.
The journey to parenthood is often idealized as the most joyous and miraculous time of your life, but what happens when your reality does not match your fairytale, and you are thrust into challenges for which you feel ill-prepared? What happens when your reality is wrought with grief/loss, anger, anxiety, depression, and confusion? Where do you go when your journey is further complicated by medical, environmental, and systemic issues outside of your control? During these times you need someone to help you navigate the emotional roller coasters, cavernous grief, and unpredictability in ways that feel safe and natural.

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Worried? Not yourself? Tired? Putting on a facade? Criticizing yourself? Wondering how life got to be this way? Dealing with such challenges alone can be incapacitating. Reaching out to others for assistance can be frightening, but often this is the first step towards more clarity, confidence and the possibility of conquering these circumstances. I believe there is hope for you and your specific situation. I am a compassionate person whose passion is helping adult women ages 18+. My office space is a safe, caring environment where your concerns are heard in a respectful, private and judgment-free manner.

Every person deserves the chance to create happiness from within themselves. As the therapist, I will work with the inner strengths of those individuals and help them navigate their life to become their truest self. My therapeutic practice is based on the client's individual needs. I believe that there is no one model to fit all people and the therapy should be molded to the client's individual goals.

The decision to seek therapy involves more than a willingness to grow - It also requires the ability to develop a healthy therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and unconditional acceptance. Creating a healthy and supportive relationship allows the client to discover more about themselves and creates an environment for change.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
