Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or constantly overthinking? Are you someone who tends to get lost in work, caregiving, or the fast pace rate of life that you forget to focus on yourself? Does taking time for yourself feel like a foreign activity? Do you desire to find your sense of purpose again? To learn to slow down and exist in the here and now for a while. Perhaps you are ready to process the loss of a loved one, to find peace with grief or unexpected news. Perhaps seek support in your own end of life journey, to explore the process of death and dying and the thoughts and emotions that may come.

I draw from a range of mind‑ and body‑based therapies, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Focusing‑Oriented Therapy (FOT), Inner Voice Dialogue (Chair Work), Havening, and EMDR.
Greetings, thank you for stopping by my page! I work with adults and teens who have lived through trauma in all its forms — especially complex or shame‑based trauma, traumatic grief, dissociation, and sexual abuse trauma. Many of my clients grew up in environments that were depriving, chaotic, abusive, or emotionally neglectful. These early experiences shape the brain and nervous system to live in a state of constant threat, even long after the danger has passed. My work is dedicated to helping you understand why you feel and react the way you do — not because something is wrong with you, but because your brain learned to survive.

Years of deep, heavy, or significant trauma? Feeling broken and unfixable? You are the person I want to work with! This trauma causes intrusive thoughts, memories, flashbacks, a short temper, reckless behavior, or a negative emotional state. We will do real work to understand why your behaviors and thoughts are the way they are, and we will find solutions and answers. I do not believe therapy should last years and my sessions reflect this.

We go deep to heal the root using EMDR, Ego-State work, and neurofeedback.
Mama, take a breath. You're a grown, capable woman — and somehow one phone call from your mother, or one holiday with the in-laws, and you're right back to shrinking, appeasing, apologizing for existing. You've built a whole life, and you still brace before you walk into that room. Consider this your sign: the patterns you learned to survive aren't yours to carry forever. Let's stop the depletion now. I provide a holistic, sacred space to help you stop managing everyone else's comfort and finally take up your own space.

EMDR is an amazing therapy that I am very passionate about, and use with most clients.
I now have a few daytime spots that have opened up if you have been trying to get in! I have worked with clients in the Northland for the past 27 years. If you have considered therapy - trust your intuition! You don't have to struggle silently with the lows any longer. If you feel stuck - take the next step. Don't wait until relationships worsen, you lose hope, or shame takes over. The time is now. You deserve it.

My primary treatment approaches are EMDR and CPT, evidence-based approaches for treating trauma.
If you’re looking for someone who keeps a blank stare for an hour, I am not the therapist for you. My clients often describe me as energetic and warm; able to hold space for trauma with a sense of humor. I'm not just any therapist, I'm a /cool/ therapist. If you are looking for a human who has a passion for trauma healing and is willing to work at a pace that is right for you, welcome in. I believe in the power of validation, that every person has strengths, and that human beings are never broken.

I believe that all humans have a resilient spirit which allows them to overcome any obstacle before them. Sometimes we forget who we are or perhaps we never fully knew. Maybe we felt we were never able to be our authentic selves. It's possible we think there's something wrong with us or we're broken. Or is it that we struggle to manage mental health symptoms and we become emotionally deregulated and filled with shame? Maybe you think that you have gone to far and there is no hope for you. You are not alone. I have helped countless people with stories like these and many more. What ever it is that is holding you back, I can help.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
