I have training to work with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression , suicidal thoughts, self-esteem, and relationship problems.
Life gets tough sometimes and everyone needs a little help. Sometimes that help comes from friends or family, but other times that help can come from a professional. Reaching out to a counselor is tough but frequently can be the first step towards improvement in life. It is important to find a counselor with whom you feel comfortable enough to do the tough work and talk about the hard issues. I enjoy learning whether that is from formal training and classwork or from the people I work with. I consider therapy a collaborative experience where we learn from each other.

My passion is helping people achieve healthy relationships that honor, strengthen, and validate the people in them. I enjoy helping young men and women to build significant and open relationships on their way through dating and engagement as well as working with them on tools to address the conflict in their marriage. Often times unchecked anxiety leads to depression and I have many effective tools for people who struggle in attending to their anxiety in an effective way. I work with addictions of all kinds in a non shaming, caring, effective, and healing way.

As we go through life it can become very challenging, overwhelming, and even scary. Sometimes we need emotional support to get us through the mishaps and worries of life. There is hope for our issues and problems we face. Working together we can bring about a connection of your thoughts, feelings, and behavior and help you understand your ability to bring peace and joy to your life. Sometimes change is hard but it takes strength and determination from you to make those changes. It takes courage to want to change and ask for help.

Wouldn't it be nice to turn down the voice in your head, to not have to deal with its constant criticism and attack? It keeps ruining things: putting you down, telling you you're not good enough, making you second guess everything you do. Then the spiral starts. It's your fault, all your fault, and your relationships suffer because of... you. Yep, there's definitely something wrong with you, the voice says. You don't have problems. You ARE the problem. If this sounds familiar and you're tired of fighting yourself, we should talk.

As a practitioner of Jungian, depth, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, I specialize in supporting those who feel stuck, down, depressed , or anxious; those who are searching for purpose, calling, or meaning; and those who are interested in incorporating dreamwork into the therapeutic process. Often, when we find ourselves at a standstill or in a crisis, our potential for healing and transformation comes from the unconscious side of the psyche. Since 2014, I have specialized in supporting veterans as they seek to heal and transform after war and military service, as well as first responders in search of healing.

I have experience supporting everything from depression , anxiety & relationships stuff to adjustment issues and work stress.
I think "moving on” from life's challenges isn’t easy; it doesn’t matter what actually happened/happening... getting over whatever is going on in your life is just hard. I think “moving on” actually means you have to move “through” & I provide a safe space for that to happen. I’m an experienced therapist who believes some topics deserve a deep dive & others are better tackled with solution-focused coaching. Over the years, I’ve helped people cope, heal, recover & basically “move on” from the hard stuff.

I am a counselor and yoga teacher specializing in mindfulness-based interventions for healing anxiety, depression , and trauma. I began my counseling career with a background of nearly 20 years teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to groups and individuals. I integrate the tools and techniques of yoga practice and theory with more traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy, DBT, and EMDR, in order to treat people holistically - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

In both my personal practice of 24 years and 8 years of teaching mindfulness, I have witnessed how mindfulness can help people change lifelong patterns of anxiety and depression .
Do you struggle with managing difficult emotions and thoughts? Do you feel like you are surviving more than you are living? Are you looking for your path to balance and a deep sense of well-being? If so, I would be happy to help you to discover how mindfulness based therapy can help you find your balance and create a life worth living. With a mindfulness practice, you can train your brain to create the changes that you are looking for. You can also access your body and mind's inherent ability to heal and find balance.

Hello! Thank you for visiting with me! Fostering “next steps” in all areas of life defines my approach to counseling. My experience with childhood loss, a pervasive family history of depression and anxiety, and a recent diagnosis of ADHD have created opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally. A Christian foundation grounds my decisions personally and professionally. I believe God works powerfully through relationships and promises to guide us.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
