If you need to address any personal issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, adolescent development , sexual identity,
marriage
conflicts, and the consequences of divorce; I am eager to assist you.
The ideal client who desire to be equipped and enabled to handle their issues independently. The client has the ability to solve their life's puzzle. My role is to assist the client to anchor the KEY piece(s) and help to develop their own coping skills . I have been helping people all of my life as a teacher, school counselor, and licensed professional counselor and hypnotherapist . Working with individuals, couples and families are areas in which I excel. Many practicing counselors do not blend traditional counseling practices with hypnotherapy. Using both approaches allows the client's mind to be "totally engaged."

Hi. Thank you for taking a look at my counseling profile. I love counseling and have been practicing for 30 years. One of the things I've noticed new clients are concerned about is being able to express themselves without being judged, as well as if the experience will be awkward. In all my years of practicing, I've heard almost everything imaginable and judgment is not a part of how I work. Everything in my office is 100% confidential and safe. I know how to ask the right question and keep the conversation flowing.

Every person deserves the chance to create happiness from within themselves. As the therapist, I will work with the inner strengths of those individuals and help them navigate their life to become their truest self. My therapeutic practice is based on the client's individual needs. I believe that there is no one model to fit all people and the therapy should be molded to the client's individual goals.

I work with premarital,
marital
couples, and individual adults and adolescents. I believe in the wisdom of clients which allows them to be an active participant in the therapeutic process.
I focus on three main points with my clients.
1. Pay attention to repetitive patterns you are caught up in or that others are caught up in with you, and change anything you can about those patterns.
2. Notice what you are doing when things
are going better, and do more of that.
3. Acknowledge the facts and influence of the past, without letting them determine the present or future.

I'm currently developing a workshop designed to identify and eliminate threats to intimacy in relationships, especially

I am currently NOT accepting new clients. A colleague of mine used to say "Work is easy; people are hard." He was right. Relationships are the fabric of life, and as your counselor, I'm committed to assisting you in developing relational skills that will enable you to change old patterns of behavior and begin to develop new ones that will promote healthy connection. I have a passionate interest in relational and family dynamics and in our work together I teach tools and strategies for effectively overcoming individual issues of stress, anxiety, anger, and depression that get in the way of healthy, strong, and growing relationships.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
