Are you seeking someone who understands suffering? Whether recent loss, painful trauma or a moment of deep personal crisis, you'd like someone who has been there and understands what it takes to stand up again. Fundamentally, counseling is a relationship. And for many, the first relationship you have ever had where someone listens without judgment, meets you with genuine appreciation, and gives with no strings attached. Together we will get a clear picture of what to do next, then we can introduce powerful rapid change methods backed by research and put you on a path to growth, well-being and more fulfilling work and relationships.

Finding a therapist that makes you feel seen and connected can be an overwhelming task, especially when you've carried your pain alone for so long. When trauma occurs it and overwhelms our ability to cope, it can often intrude in the present moment long after the threat has passed. I am a trauma therapist and understand how the impacts of trauma can bring a human into significant internal and relational conflict. Whether your lived experiences have led you to struggling with depression, anxiety, intense emotion dysregulation, or substance use; I am here to carry it with you.

I believe children have an innate ability to grow in a positive direction. The child-therapist relationship is the element that encourages healing, where the child feels safe, supported, and is able to make those changes that lead to growth through exploring self (experiences, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors). When we meet a child's need, rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom. I focus on possibilities, strengths, and value differences through direct and indirect practices.

Every person deserves the chance to create happiness from within themselves. As the therapist, I will work with the inner strengths of those individuals and help them navigate their life to become their truest self. My therapeutic practice is based on the client's individual needs. I believe that there is no one model to fit all people and the therapy should be molded to the client's individual goals.

The ideal client for me is someone looking for healing through God's truth. I've walked my own journey of learning how to cope with anxiety and depression and how to walk away from unhealthy relationships. I also learned that for me to try to fill the voids in my heart with people and things only left me empty. I would be honored to help you learn how to walk in freedom from what's burdening your heart.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
DBT is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
