My practice is focused on addressing general psychological concerns that may affect an individual and/or their family throughout the lifespan with a special emphasis on individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. At the heart of my practice is an acceptance and openness to the individual(s) with a focus on their lived experiences. Each of us has unique skills/gifts that provide a foundation upon which we can continue to grow. Through my work with clients I hope to assist them in the development of new skills, greater understanding and improved relationships.
Life is hard. Whether that’s because of choices we’ve made or choices others have made to us, it can be difficult to see a way through the hurt and pain. Perhaps you’re suffering and are longing for understanding and support in your search for healing and stability. I know that it takes a lot of courage to step out and ask for help. I am here to offer hope and empathy.
I am passionate about breaking the negative stigma of mental health in the church and the black community. I enjoy helping adolescents, adults, and families navigate through the challenges and unexpected hardships of life. I have a desire to help clients with a wide variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, trauma, divorce, transitions, single parenting, and family communication
Are you experiencing moments of change? Is this a time in your life when that change is bringing to the foreground feelings of helplessness, hopelessness? Life can get really overwhelming at times. Those times can make us feel powerless and out of control. Sometimes the added presence of an Anxiety, Depression or Bipolar disorder can make it all the more challenging. You do not have to struggle alone. I believe times of loss and change can bring about self-awareness and healing. And that change is an opportunity to cultivate compassion and loving kindness towards ourselves and others.
I strive to create a safe physical and emotional space for you to process your experiences, share your feelings, and work through decisions free from judgement. I will offer my support and insight as we work together to better understand your inner world.
I offer counseling to teens and adults over the age of 16. My goal is to provide a space where you can share your experiences and feel heard. My ideal client is someone who is wanting to be the best version of themselves and who is willing to put in the work to get there, but perhaps is feeling a little stuck. If that's the case, I will gladly join you, helping you to process your emotions, identify your goals, and understand how to keep moving forward in your journey. I will provide a safe space for you to be authentically you, and I will encourage you, help guide you, and be transparent with you during the process.

Feeling disconnected from your partner, like you are living parallel lives? We are social creatures and desire connection with others. You may be feeling hurt, confused, or stressed and need the support of someone that can listen and help you navigate the needs and wants of the relationship while learning the skills to resolve conflict. I will help you to learn to understand what your partner is saying, to put the message into words you can hear. Resolving the miscommunications can lead to clarity. Learning to communicate with one another, being heard, and getting needs met are common goals of the clients I work with.
I'm honored to join you on your pathway towards peace and healing. If you find yourself repeating behaviors or patterns in relationships that no longer work for you, you may benefit from healing work. We often repeat (even undesirable) behaviors because of past hurts and traumas. These may be things we have no control over, but that very much affect who we are and how we move around in the world today. And secondary effects of these past events, like anxiety and depression, also affect us today. There are ways you can heal from the pain and create different, healthier, and more fulfilling paths!
Therapy has the power to facilitate a relationship with the self that is tender, introspective, and vibrant. My goal is to support you in nurturing this relationship. In therapy we will always work as collaborators. I specialize in trauma therapy and integrated expressive arts approaches, but have experience working with a wide variety of clients.
Hello! Are you feeling stressed, worried, or down and need to talk? I would love to get to know you, listen, and help. I am a person centered, goal driven counselor who leads with an empathetic, warm and supportive approach. My goal is to help you work through your complaints with a positive and non-judgmental perspective on the situation. I have a passion for working with young adults transitioning to work or college, working with adults balancing work and home life and working with individuals with disabilities to help maintain employment.
Speaking with a therapist can be helpful for so many different reasons: improving emotional wellbeing, processing grief or trauma, or finding a way forward when you feel stuck (to name a few). I would be honored to listen to you–to provide a safe place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings about your difficult situation and help you make positive life changes.
Life. Is. Hard. Your relationship(s) with your friend, significant other, kid, or parent just do not seem to be working. You've tried so many things and you're utterly exhausted. I feel that pain. The pain that exists when even hoping for a different experience feels too much. It sucks. It's exhausting. It feels like there's nothing you can do and you're doomed to a life of painful and unsatisfactory relationships. When we're at the end of our ropes we often need someone to come alongside and tell us: "It sucks, I know. You're not alone. I'm with you. We'll work through this together." This is the core of what I offer.
I have 25 years of experience and specialized training in the field of trauma treatment and mental health. Areas of focus: depression, anxiety, panic, relationships, physical, emotional and sexual violence, child sexual abuse, post-traumatic and acute stress symptoms, dissociation, grief/loss, accident related trauma, direct or secondary traumatic experience, first responder and military incidents of stress. Clients that have experienced traumatic events often feel as if they are not themselves, may have intrusive thoughts, difficulty with focus, trust and may feel jumpy and/or numb. I would like to help you find your way through.
My counseling practice centers around helping individuals and couples who have experienced sexual trauma in any of its various forms. Whether it be due to recent infidelity, a long history of sexual, physical and emotional betrayal, sexual identity confusion, or present day repercussions of childhood abuse and trauma, I consider it a privilege to walk with clients into the darkness of their stories. I enjoy coming alongside and advocating for those who are tired of just coping, dissatisfied with their quality of life, and desperate for deep change and healing.
My ideal client is a courageous heart who is looking to take control of their life to get what they want! I work best with clients who are motivated, ready to make a change in their lives and who are a little outside the norm. I want you to get what you want out of therapy, so we will set personalized goals and move forward with intention while handling any bumps along the way.
