When I meet with people, I am told that I am approachable, understanding, and humorous! I know what it's like to be a client and to be asked to pour out my life; therefore, I adapt my therapy sessions to you and allow you to share what you desire! I do what I do to help others as I have been helped, and my goal is to assist you in achieving your goals! I understand how to incorporate Christianity into your session, though also respect your desire to not include any beliefs whatsoever. I am flexible and understanding.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and somatic approaches.
I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in patterns that aren’t working—whether that’s related to mental health, relationship conflict, emotional overwhelm, or life transitions. Many are used to holding it together for others but feel exhausted or disconnected. I help clients slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and build more intentional, sustainable ways of responding so they can move forward with clarity and confidence.

I use EMDR as well as CBT to help clients work on changing their negative beliefs into healthier ones over time.
I work with a wide range of people all looking for real movement, not years of talking without change. Do you feel successful on the outside but unsure where life is going? Are you repeating patterns without knowing why or how to change? Has someone in your life suggested you talk to a therapist? People come to therapy when they’re struggling with relationships, social connections, or direction at work. Others repeat behaviors despite wanting to “do it differently this time.” Therapy with me focuses on getting unstuck and moving forward.

I am also trained in EMDR and find it to be an incredibly effective modality in treating trauma and helping clients enter new chapters of life.
I am a mature therapist who draws on her own life experiences, a career spend working with older adults, and the wisdom of therapy modalities to help people find meaning and peace during hard times in life. I work best with people who are willing to slow down and look at the big picture. I believe the best is often yet to come and finding resolution to past experiences and conflicts helps us prepare for what is ahead. Come talk about anything and everything on your mind. Like coffee with a friend, but nothing is off topic or too much. I'd love to talk with you over the phone or meet you and see if we will make a good match.

I integrate components from CBT, DBT, EMDR, DDP, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy to assist with healing and processing through struggles.
Life transitions sound great on paper, but navigating them in the real world can feel incredibly bumpy, exhausting, and overwhelming. Whether you're facing a massive change in schedule, shift in identity, or just trying to find your footing-it's easy to feel like you're losing your grip on your overall well-being. When we experience change, sometimes our go-to coping strategies don't work the same. It can be difficult to notice and realize the stress of "holding it together" or "being the rock" for others can be mentally and physically draining. I provide a person-centered space where you take the lead, and I act as your co-pilot.

Working with trauma, I may utilize EMDR when it feels appropriate in addition to inner child work.
Are you at a transition point in your own life or in your relationship? On the journey of life, it’s normal to arrive at a fork in the road. Perhaps you feel dissatisfied with your current path. Maybe you’ve put other people’s needs before your own for too long and you’re ready to prioritize yourself. You long for some real joy. If this resonates for you, I’m here to help. I love working with individual adults and couples in the midst of life transitions seeking a stronger sense of self-worth in their own lives and in their relationships. Let's co-create a new story for you that aligns with who you are and where you're going.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
