Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
Online Only
I specialize in CPTSD, Narcissistic Abuse Recovery, & late-diagnosed Neurocomplexity (AUDHD, Autism, or Adhd).
Your childhood didn’t provide the instruction manual you needed for life. You coped as best you could & yet you question your decisions when it comes to partnering, parenting, or leading. Your mind is constantly active, your heart is braced or bruised, & your spirit & body are MIA. You rumble with angst, doubt, & anxiety. Your capacity isn’t keeping up with your desire or demands. You go deep, are “highly sensitive”, creative, or gifted, yet your strengths are overlooked & your differences are not seen or supported. You need TLC for your wounds, ways to address your unmet needs, & skills to grow your capacity.

Are You Running on Empty? Are you exhausted from trying to do everything perfectly, constantly putting others first, or feeling like no matter how much you accomplish it's never quite enough? You're not alone, and you don't have to keep pushing through on your own. I work with high performers, perfectionists, and people-pleasers who are struggling with anxiety, stress, and burnout. My clients are often successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed and depleted on the inside. They're the ones who set impossibly high standards, overthink every decision, avoid failure at all costs, and wonder why they can't seem to catch their breath

Do you find yourself stuck in overthinking or constantly critiquing yourself? Do you question whether you’ve done “enough” or measure your worth by productivity or performance? Many of us try to outthink our insecurities — promising to be more disciplined, more positive, or more confident. Yet the harder we push to change our thoughts or feelings, the more we end up feeling anxious, discouraged, or strained in our relationships. That cycle of striving and self-correction can quietly fuel anxiety, depression, and disconnection. So what actually creates lasting change?

When working with individuals, I aim to help them through a collaborative process to understand the underlying issues that are causing them to not live up to their potential. The model which I employ assumes that many of our struggles are connected to conflicts within us of which we are not completely aware. I feel that therapy is most effective when the entire person's personality and history are considered instead of just focusing on current problematic behaviors. My work focuses on recognizing long standing relationship patterns that are troublesome as well as developing a more emotionally stable and adaptive personality.

I have learned that no one is immune to mental health stress, trauma, OR substance abuse. With intervention, most really can find recovery and wellness. Since 2000, I began my career in the addiction field specializing in coping methods vs. "using" substances. I work with all arrangements of families (CNM & polyamory). Relationships are sacred. Expert family/couples counseling requires expert training. The premier approach - the Gottman Method is taught in 3 levels. I completed those in 2017. My intensive couples approach is successful in improving communication and provides tools and practical results in a reasonable time frame.

Are you struggling with past trauma that keeps resurfacing and affects your relationships, sense of self, or even your physical well-being? Do you feel stuck, frustrated, or like you should be “over it by now”, no matter how much you tell yourself to just move on? Do you wonder if healing is even possible, or if it’s something you have to face alone? Now more than ever, people with trauma are feeling overwhelmed and uncertain, because trauma changes the brain and body in ways that make recovery feel impossible without support. It’s not about lacking willpower. It’s about having the right guidance, tools, and support to truly heal.

Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Eating Disorders, Addiction and Self-Destructive Behaviors are real problems, yet with the right treatment you can expect to experience meaningful recovery and growth. In therapy, we work collaboratively to reduce the impact the symptoms or behaviors have on your life and build coping strategies and resiliency.

I am unable to describe an ideal client. I welcome the full range of issues and personalities. Even in cases, where a client is not sure what their goals are, I look forward to helping them become more clear about a direction. We all want to be our best possible selves no matter what we bring to the table. Life is complicated and sometimes ecouragement, support, and guidance gives us the push we need.

I seek to do whatever possible to help you feel safe in counseling. The relationship between you and I needs to be one that feels warm, inviting, non-judgmental, and encouraging. From the safety of this relationship, you can then feel supported enough to grieve what has been lost and push to fight for the things that have been taken from your life.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
