Nobody is absent of a history that has not at some point brought about hurt, anger, grief, or sadness, and I believe that our current existence is a culmination of these past experiences, good or bad. The emotional outcome is oftentimes determined on our awareness, our interpretation, and how we have chosen to respond to these experiences.
The clients I have worked with have a variety of issues. Usually these are related to their self confidence and can be impacted by their relationships with parents, teammates, coaches, teachers and competitors. They typically want assistance at guiding them to understand their goals, strengths, weaknesses, fears, distractions and stressors. We will work thru their communication with others, their preparation, focus, attitude and self confidence. Most clients want to understand where their issues started, find solutions to them and ways to be more confident and happy with themselves and accomplishing their personal goals.
My practice’s primary focus is on a secular treatment of video game or screen compulsion, behavioral management of ADHD, and sex-positive sexuality treatment. If you, or someone you are close to, suspects there is a behavioral compulsion it is important to work with someone who understands these concerns and has a plan for treatment. My work with impulsive/compulsive behavior also extends into helping clients manage some ADHD symptoms. Through my focus on impulse control and compulsions, I have some exposure to "sex addiction." My work on this is complex, sex-positive, and based on extensive modern research into sexual behaviors.
Accepting group clients only at this time. One of my joys in life is witnessing growth and change. And being part of another's journey is an honor and privilege. I work with adults and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, grief, depression, and difficulty managing emotions. In addition, I enjoy helping clients with career and phase of life issues.
I believe that understanding, accepting, and committing to our values is an integral part of recovery and creating a meaningful life. I aim to provide tools and support to allow individuals to resolve their past and thrive in the present. My professional experience and training focuses on providing advocacy and guidance for adolescents and adults seeking management and relief from PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, phase of life problems, interpersonal relationship issues, and navigating through career and identity development.
For over ten years, I have worked to help individuals and couples empower themselves and achieve desired change in their lives. I believe in a direct, yet compassionate approach to therapy, which stems from my extensive training and experience practicing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Act and Commitment Therapy, therapy for high-conflict couples, and behavioral interventions for eating disordered clients. I focus on utilizing evidence-based therapies, self care, gratitude, mindfulness, skills training, and the client's personal value system in order to nurture hope and help clients achieve their goals.
I have been a psychologist for 30+ years. I am licensed as a Psychologist and Health Care Provider. I work with individuals and couples and specialize in issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and vocational issues. I also specialize in helping individuals overcome sexual difficulties, which may include low sex drive, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, and sexual addiction. I work with couples and families on relationship issues including marital and divorce issues, parent child difficulties, and sexual difficulties as they relate to the couple's relationship.
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages that are open to honesty, transparency and the process of change. It can be difficult to reach out to others for support. There are many facets of our lives that prompt the need to develop additional coping skills and boundaries to navigate through life. I am open to assist in that process.

Life throws so much at us. Often our natural instinct is to cling to the happy times and push away pain and suffering. However, learning to accept difficult situations and accept change is possible through guidance and feedback. Learning to act effectively to accept change and to face the places where we need to improve is an act of courage that does not appear overnight. I believe in evidence-based and practical strategies to help my clients improve their lives and emotional well-being. I believe that change is not only possible but inevitable.
