Have you been feeling stuck in your life or relationship. Feeling like maybe things could be better? Do you experience shame with your body and sexuality? You might wish to overcome the stigmas associated with that shame and live a more empowered life full of joy and pleasure. Have you experienced trauma in and around your personal life and relationships?
I have been in private practice for over twenty years. During those years I have counseled both individual clients and couples with a variety of issues. These issues include relationship issues, life transitions, abuse, depression, eating disorders, grief, stress, anxiety, sexual identity, and parenting issues. I believe we all go through difficult periods in our lives where we need someone to talk to who can give understanding, support, guidance, tools, and suggestions. I believe that counseling can often help our lives become less painful but instead become more hopeful and fulfilling.
Life is a journey, a journey that is most difficult when traveled alone. I strive to walk with clients on their path towards healing and happiness. Working from a client-centered approach, it is essential for me to understand each client as an individual to develop trust and a partnership in therapy. Relationships, trauma, careers and other stressors take a toll on a person's ability to flourish. I believe that each person has potential for growth from those experiences. My goal is to help you regain your footing on your path to living a full and vibrant life.
Everyone experiences stress in their lives. Sometimes this is temporary and manageable, sometimes overwhelming. When things seem too difficult to handle alone, counseling can help. When I work with people, I see them as partners in their care. Old habits of thinking and reacting to situations in life can seem difficult to overcome. Together we discover what seems to be the source of the problems, explore what has worked and not worked so far, and find new ways of dealing with what is causing emotional pain. I sometimes suggest ways to practice new responses or behaviors between meetings.
I look at therapy as a team effort to help my clients achieve greater life satisfaction. From the beginning of my career, I have interacted with children with attachment disorders and those with current and past trauma. While many of my clients have been children in the past. I am now using my knowledge in attachment to provide couples counseling and sex therapy. Nearly all of our concerns relating to sex and relationships are related to experiences in childhood. I also specialize in providing gender affirming care. including but not limited to letters for medical treatment.

I work to get to the root of these issues.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, down or frustrated? Or is your child having a hard time with attention or adjusting to a new situation? It can be difficult to know where to turn when you’re new to these problems, or when the help you’ve gotten hasn’t been enough. I work with adults, kids, and parents who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD, or other parenting or mental health issues. I can help you get a handle on what’s going on and learn new ways to cope with chronic problems. While we can’t prevent every curve ball in our lives, we can learn ways to decrease our stress and improve well-being.

I’ve been providing individual therapy for adults, teens, and children for over 7 years. Individuals I've served have varied considerably in regards to the issues that have brought them in for counseling. I take great care to understand that each person I work with is a unique and complex individual needing services tailored to them.
As James Baldwin said, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." I cannot promise that everything will be better every time, every day, but I do believe that we are more than the problems we face and the labels assigned to us. I work with clients to reclaim ownership of their lives and become empowered to work toward the changes they seek. Sometimes, as we change, our ideas and our goals may shift, and our understanding of possible or impossible may be altered. I am here to help my clients explore themselves, their problems, their goals, and the challenges they face along the way.
I want you to know what it’s like to live a life of healing. If you feel like you are drowning, overwhelmed, exhausted, or resentful - I can help. Together we will roll up our sleeves and get to work. It will get a little messy, but I’m not scared of the mess. I will support you while you learn to love the things you have previously hidden. Your pain, your thoughts, and your behaviors can all make sense when we explore them with kind curiosity. It is time to take off the shackles of your past, and live tomorrow more free than you were yesterday.
I work with survivors of sexual abuse and assault and those affected by anaphylactic food allergies. People who've experienced these traumas often begin feeling a sense of losing control over their lives. I want you to know that you can heal from trauma and I can help you with that process. I will work with you to figure out how to mange anxiety, fear, sleep and relationship problems or any other symptoms you're experiencing. We can then work together to decide which approach to trauma processing is best for you.

Life happens when you live it. Are you living your life, or going through the motions? Life is meant to be enjoyed to its fullest, since you only get one. You should be the driver of your life and not the passenger along for a ride. A change of perspective is usually what is needed.
