Suffering, while valuable, doesn’t have to define you or your story. If you’re wanting to move beyond old hurts, or feeling stuck despite desiring change, together we can re-author your story to include healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and being. In addition to my office in Brookside, KCMO, I am also offering sessions via Telehealth for those who do not wish to leave their homes due to COVID-19 (client must reside in MO).

Trauma affects our brains in ways that can make us feel stuck in constant survival mode. It can be exhausting. I offer strategies to help clients process their experiences, cope more effectively, and move forward with their lives. You can find relief! And you don’t have to do it alone. Your needs are unique to your story, so your treatment should be unique as well. Whether the root of the issue is behavioral, emotional, traumatic, or complicated, I aim to help my clients make this discovery for themselves and collaborate in therapy, so it best fits their needs and values.

Life is hard, and everyone needs support at one time or another. If you're experiencing anxiety, depression, tough relationships, or difficult transitions, you're not alone. You might lack confidence in your recent life choices. You might feel as if you don't have many options right now. You might feel stuck in a never-ending cycle of the "same old". Again, I say... you're not alone.

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
