Unconditional personal acceptance, honesty, and if it's a good fit: trust. This is the where therapy has power. And in a society increasingly isolated and detached, we are tragically under-resourced in our suffering. If you've found yourself ready to try and paint a different picture, I can help. We can be open minded with what that looks like, sometimes it resembles examining your thoughts, sometimes connecting with and learning from your emotions. Sometimes we need a safe, human connection to hear and to heal the burdens of our past and present. My first task is to learn what it is you need; it's ok if that's yours too.

I believe what people need the most is to feel better about themselves. An increased sense of self worth is what makes us feel like we are worth our own time and effort.

The focus of my work is helping individuals who are struggling with sexual addiction and the negative impacts it can have on a person's relationships, overall emotional well being, health, family, career and other aspects of life. Struggles with sexuality can involve a great deal of pain, guilt and shame. If this is your experience, finding a professional who can provide a safe and non-judgemental space is crucial. In addition, I work with individuals who experience difficulties creating and maintaining intimate connections in relationships.

I work with clients genuinely open to exploring themselves and seeking personal growth, even if they’re feeling uncertain or vulnerable in the process. They may be dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, substance use, or low self-esteem, and they’re ready to understand the deeper layers of these challenges. Their needs often include a grace-filled space where they can feel truly seen and heard, free from judgment, and able to express their authentic selves. This client wants to uncover and work through the roots of their struggles, ultimately aligning with who they truly are.

I specialize in working with individuals who feel like life has gotten stale. I love working with people to help them regain a sense of vibrancy in life. I want to help you move from that state of staleness into a position of thriving. Sometimes that movement requires working through experiences that bind us, and sometimes it requires reigniting the things that used to give us life. Regardless of where you find yourself in that movement, I would be honored to get to walk alongside you in it.

Family dynamics are often complicated and difficult. While we often find comfort and stability within our family, it is all too common to experience problems that we’re just not quite prepared to address. Parents may feel unsure of themselves or overwhelmed by increasing demands on their time and attention. Children and teens may struggle to feel they can open up with their parents for several reasons. Communication breaks down and the family that once felt so close knit is starting to drift apart. While we know we need help, it can be difficult to take that first step and reach out.

Male Therapists
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
