Certifications: Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, EMDR trained, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2), PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator, Nationally Certified Counselor, Master of Arts in Counseling
I became a therapist because I experienced firsthand how powerful therapy can be. My own journey in counseling changed the course of my life, and I saw how understanding and working with my emotions—rather than against them—opened doors I didn’t know existed. That experience stayed with me, and I realized I wanted to help others discover that same possibility for themselves.

The solutions to life's struggles are elusive, and hard times have a way of leaving us filled with doubt, confusion, and hopelessness. These are some of the building blocks of anxiety, depression, resentments, addictions, and strained relationships, among other conditions. It's normal and can even be helpful to experience some worry, sadness, and other forms of tension, however for many these emotions grow to levels where they are no longer useful. If this resonates with you, please take a moment to assure yourself that you do not have to take this on alone. A life that is more fulfilling and manageable is within your reach.

I integrate components from CBT, DBT, EMDR, DDP, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy to assist with healing and processing through struggles.
Life transitions sound great on paper, but navigating them in the real world can feel incredibly bumpy, exhausting, and overwhelming. Whether you're facing a massive change in schedule, shift in identity, or just trying to find your footing-it's easy to feel like you're losing your grip on your overall well-being. When we experience change, sometimes our go-to coping strategies don't work the same. It can be difficult to notice and realize the stress of "holding it together" or "being the rock" for others can be mentally and physically draining. I provide a person-centered space where you take the lead, and I act as your co-pilot.

Your alarm clock is going off, and that sense of dread sits in the pit of your stomach. You slept but you don’t feel rested. Brushing your teeth and getting dressed leaves you drained. The idea of “peopling” makes you want to curl in a ball. You have thoughts popping into your head that you aren’t “good enough,” are “an imposter,” or “a failure.” Everyday tasks can feel overwhelming, and you can be your own worst critic when struggling with life transitions, trauma, anxiety or depression. Asking for help can be daunting, as we are often taught to face those internal battles quietly and alone.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
