Jungian analytic work understands that life is unpredictable. Everyone struggles at some point in life. Sometimes the accompanying suffering tears at the very fabric of our understanding of ourselves and how we fit in the world. Life no longer makes sense. Life is not the way you thought it would be or should be. Unbidden desires, anxieties or depression come in to interfere with your ability to live the life you want. Others in your life behave in ways that disrupt your peace of mind and ability to live a meaningful life. Issues you thought you had dealt with long ago resurface in the present.

I excel at helping women to explore the barriers they have to living the life they want.
Life is hard! There are so many things to balance and never enough hours in the day. Your mind is always full of worries, to dos, and random things and it seems impossible to shut off the noise. You want to be able to relax and be more present in your life but have no idea how to make that happen. You have read the self help books and attempted meditation, but it did not work. Instead of trying to find ways to be more efficient at doing it all what would happen if you took some time to pause and work with someone who can help you sort through all of the thoughts and commitments? What if you were able to rest?

I work primarily with women and older teenage girls to help them break through the bonds of socialized sexism, the trauma, anxiety and self-doubt these things create, and the impact they have on how women design their lives.
Feeling an increase in anxiety right now? Many people are. It can be hard to find a place to discuss all the ways you feel anxious, depressed, uncertain, or angry. There is nothing off limits in therapy. You can talk about how old traumas are impacting you now, how uncertain or angry you feel about the current political climate, how hard it is to be in opposition to family members, the things that make you “different” and therefore vulnerable, or whatever else is on your mind.
Do you want to explore the nuances that are you? Let’s talk.

I’m especially experienced and passionate about helping women through the menopausal transition.
My goal is to provide a safe and understanding space for you to navigate your journey. These transitions can come with struggles connecting back to past trauma. The stress can exacerbate old ways of unhelpful coping or bring about new ways of coping that you're not proud of. I can help you create insight into your patterns and help you build new skills.

I believe relationships are central to our core being. Therapy is an opportunity for empowerment within ourselves and in our relationships. Whether it is the lack of support from our parents or our partners, unresolved trauma or PTSD, persistent anxiety or depression, or the desire to live more authentically with those closest to us, embarking on a path toward healing is a courageous first step. As you begin on this path, you will learn to communicate more authentically, feel more centered, and develop multiple ways of dealing with life’s challenges.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
