I'm glad you decided to reach out for support! The most important part about starting therapy is to ensure you feel comfortable. Are you looking for a genuine and compassionate therapist who is also direct? If so, you have come to the right place. I like to make clients feel comfortable utilizing a calm space to allow them to process their feelings. Some of my clients are looking for support and guidance on how to manage emotions, may have symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, or needing guidance within relationships in their life. I also involve parents and guardians in the therapy process as well!

My clients want to feel better, do better, and be better versions of themselves. They want meaningful work and a sense of balance. I want them to feel empowered and prepared to handle daily interactions, life transitions, and whatever crisis comes their way. That means having a regulated enough nervous system that they can intentionally respond with the skills we hone in therapy instead of mindlessly reacting or repeating ineffective patterns. I work well with people looking for clarity, support, and honesty from their therapist.

I work with adult and adolescent clients of diverse backgrounds, with a particular passion for supporting those who feel like societal outcasts or that they just don’t quite “fit.” My practice is a nonjudgmental space for individuals to shed the labels others have placed on them and explore their true values. Whether confronting childhood emotional neglect, redefining their identity, or unpacking religious trauma, I aim to support clients in achieving their unique goals.

Sometimes it can feel like seeking therapy for yourself or your child means that something has gone wrong. I see it differently. Reaching out for encouragement and support is a courageous step toward growth and healing. I have specialized training and experience working with children as young as three, adolescents, and young adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, parental separation, and behavioral concerns. I also provide caregiver support and consultation to help adults strengthen their relationships with their children and foster healthy development.

Limited appointments available. Something isn’t working—and it’s hard to figure out why. Your child may be having frequent meltdowns, ongoing toileting concerns like accidents or withholding, or pushing limits. Your teen may seem capable and like they’re doing fine on the outside, but are actually carrying a lot of pressure inside. I work with children, teens, and parents when things feel confusing or hard to shift. We slow things down, understand what’s driving these patterns, and find more manageable ways forward.

On the outside, things might look fine. On the inside, there’s more going on. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly asking yourself, “Is this really it?” Do you sometimes feel lonely, confused? Maybe unheard or misunderstood. Sometimes what feels like confusion is the beginning of something deeper taking shape. I offer a grounded, collaborative space to explore and navigate change. I integrate talk therapy with brain-based approaches such as hypnosis to access deeper patterns, strengthen insight, and create meaningful, lasting alignment.

I provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive enviornment where I guide individuals and couples to help them overcome mental health and emotional issues to bring about a new level of awareness and change. This is done by identifying and understanding the underlying causes, changing destructive thought patterns, and behaviors. I am also a certified Thai Yoga therapist. I keep both practices separate in that I do not do psychotherapy with Thai Yoga clients or vice versa.

When life’s difficulties pile up, they can quietly carry us further from the person we want to be, until it all feels overwhelming. Though subtle, the relationship we hold with ourselves—particularly our emotions—is often the key to experiencing a genuine sense of happiness and fulfillment. I seek to support my clients in experiencing life from a more empowered stance, one that can be difficult to access when feeling buried by a traumatic past or even a traumatic present.

My ideal client is someone who wants to address the issues that they are struggling with in an empathetic and validating environment. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, or a host of other issues, and they know that when they come to my office they will be working with someone who truly wants to help them. Ideally, their goals would be related to things that they truly care about and want to improve in their lives. My ideal clients wants to find peace within the chaos that everyday life sometimes presents.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
