Are you walking or possibly running through life and sometimes have thoughts of "why am I doing this?" Or are you on autopilot and don't even THINK about it at all until there is a problem or feeling that is uncomfortable. That is a sign we are disconnected. Disconnected from our true nature, the reason why we do what we do AND who we do it with. What has even more impact is when we are disconnected from ourselves. Then we hardly think or notice this disconnection until there is a problem. I can help you find your way.

Real work can bring real change. I believe all clients have the capacity to make real progress toward positive change. I also empathically recognize that progress and change can be difficult and sometimes scary. With this in mind, I hope to meet you exactly where you are today. Counseling is not a one-size-fits-all practice; I recognize this and will work with you to tailor a therapeutic approach to your individual needs. I also understand the power of the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor and want to make the collaborative process of counseling meaningful for you.

Your alarm goes off and you struggle to get out of bed. Each day blends into the next, leaving you restless, anxious, and longing for something more. Maybe you feel like you can’t write another paper or take another exam? Or you perceive that your work is uninspiring and does not serve a purpose that feels worthwhile? Perhaps the weight of so much conflict in the world at large is diminishing your spirit? But you’ve still got that spark, you just need guidance to help you get back to enjoying your life. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or OCD, you don’t have to face it alone.

From the outside, it may look like you’re managing life well—showing up for work, relationships, and responsibilities while quietly carrying stress, anxiety, overthinking, or emotional exhaustion underneath it all. Maybe your mind never fully slows down, you feel disconnected from yourself, or you keep finding yourself stuck in the same painful patterns no matter how hard you try to change them alone. The truth is that healing does not happen in isolation. We are not meant to carry everything by ourselves. Real change happens when you have a space where you can feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported without judgment.

Through an in-depth, supportive, and reflective process, I help people slow down and gain relief from their emotional pain. Whether it comes from relationships or work, or from something more internal like anxiety or low self-esteem, such pain can limit you from living a full, productive, and meaningful life. In therapy, we will work together to identify the patterns of feeling and relating that lead to these problems. We will work to shift these patterns in order to to create a lasting sense of flexibility, freedom, and ease in navigating life.

Making the decision to seek therapy and then finding the right therapist can be difficult. You may be struggling with your feelings, behaviors, or relationships. I work with people on a wide variety of issues. Often this is with individuals and couples struggling emotionally, experiencing transitions, or wanting more satisfying relationships. My work tends to focus first on finding relief from problematic symptoms and then on improving relationships and personal growth and development, working towards a happier and more peaceful experience of living. My approach is nurturing and supportive, always respectful.

My ideal clients are done guessing. They have lived with questions, about themselves or their child, and are ready for real answers. Many come after years of misdiagnosis, failed interventions, or evaluations that left them more confused than before. Some are adults who recently recognized themselves in descriptions of autism or ADHD. Others are parents whose child is struggling despite everyone's best efforts. What they all share is a desire to finally be understood. My team builds a complete picture, accounting for history, trauma, and cultural context, and walks alongside each client from the first conversation through feedback.

I’m a down-to-earth therapist who believes small steps lead to big changes. I enjoy bringing humor into sessions when it fits, and I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens. I work with teens, adults, and families facing anxiety, trauma, OCD, depression, chronic illness, disability, religious trauma, and LGBTQIA+ issues. (and other life issues). I love helping people reconnect with their strengths and move toward a more authentic life.

School drop-off has become a daily battle. Your child clings to you, crying, or complains of stomachaches every morning. Even once they’re at school, the nurse calls, or they avoid classwork due to fear of making mistakes. Bedtime is filled with worry about the next day. You've tried comforting, reassuring, letting them stay home, and changing plans to avoid meltdowns, but nothing works for long. The fear keeps growing, you’re exhausted, doubting every decision you make, and wondering if this is just your life now. You're not failing as a parent - your child just needs a different approach, and I’m here to help you find it.

Sometimes life comes at you hard, you're balancing family, work, your own struggles, societal issues, while trying to hold space for those you love and their struggles. You're looking to feel safe, healthy, and resilient, but you're not sure how to accomplish this, as you keep moving to survive.

I work with adults who function well externally but struggle with chronic self-doubt, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties in work and relationships. Many carry unresolved family-of-origin trauma and patterns of relational conflict that echo early object relations. These internalized dynamics often lead to codependent behaviors, boundary difficulties, or repeated relational disappointments. Through focused psychodynamic exploration, clients gain insight into their patterns, develop greater affect tolerance, and build a more integrated, authentic sense of self.

You're feeling stuck no matter what you do. You know something in your life needs to change, but you don't know what or where to even start. Maybe every day feels like another battle between your thoughts, values, actions, and impulses. Maybe you've been through difficult relationships and you are ready to create healthier connections, especially with yourself.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
