I’m here to help clients with various mental health needs - from depression and anxiety to trauma and relationship issues. The most important part of therapy is the client-therapist relationship and I strive to build those relationships so my clients can be successful in their mental health journey. Many of my clients come to me with little hope for the future and I want to partner with them for a positive experience.

Overwhelmed yet? Finding a therapist you can work with seems to be one of almost infinite choices. Earning my LCSW in 2005 provides you with the understanding I have a few years of experience. That experience has helped develop a non-judgemental, client centered approach in how I do therapy. My ideal client is easy for me to describe: wants help and is able to trust another person! Its that simple. Clients I have had the highest success rates with have been afflicted with anxiety and or depression. The key has seemed to be helping clients identify the source of your affliction and then reducing the emotional distress.

Life can be incredibly challenging, and I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when the weight of daily demands seems too much to bear. You might find yourself pushing through each day with a heavy heart, wearing a smile that doesn’t quite reach your eyes and holding back tears that yearn to flow. It can feel like an endless cycle of wondering when the light will shine through again. You might even think, "It’s hopeless. I’m not meant to live a good life. I don’t deserve it." If you’re feeling this way, please know you’re not alone. There is hope. I’m here to listen with compassion and support you on your journey.

I love working with children as young as 4 (and older), teens, adults, and couples. A majority of my practice consists of individuals who are suffering with depression, anxiety, or just life in general. I am very passionate about working with couples who need to address: communication, healthy fighting skills, affair recovery, or grief due to the loss of a child or loved one.

Life can be full of challenges, and those challenges don't wait until you are grown and ready. Everyone, whether a child, mature adult, or somewhere in-between, may need a safe place to help process and overcome those challenges that life can bring. My goal is to provide a safe place to help children, teens, and adults process emotions and equip clients with tools to use in their daily life.

I have been a counselor for 14 years. At this point, I only counsel females age 14+. My career has focused on anxiety, depression, self-worth, personal growth and development, adjustment issues, relationship struggles, communication problems, etc. I have a strong desire to help people walk through their struggles, no matter how deep-rooted or surface level they may be, to help them become their best self. There is a wonderful life to be lived, and it's worth doing the hard work needed in order to experience it!

I work with adolescents, adults, and families to break generational cycles. I guide and empower individuals to take back control of their lives and become their best self. I have had to overcome hardships that were placed in my life and through counseling, I was able to take back my life! I believe that every individual deserves a safe space to heal. I will provide an atmosphere where people are free to experience change. I believe change is capable of everyone. I believe in our scars telling our story of healing. I believe in growth, forgiveness, second, and third chances. I believe in people. I believe in hope.

Being a human is hard sometimes; especially if we were not taught the skills needed to successfully navigate through life. Many people have not been excused from experiencing life issues, and partnering in therapy can be a great way to explore life moments in a safe and confidential manner. I specialize in EMDR, a form of therapy that helps reduce emotional intensities brought about from unprocessed past experiences. I also utilize DBT, a skills-based form of therapy that teaches mindfulness, skills to help regulate emotions, relationship skills, and strategies to tolerate distressing situations.

You've arrived in your life, but something is still missing. You've gotten the good job, met that special someone, and maybe you've even started a family. By all accounts, life should feel great, but something is missing. You don't feel excited or passionate about life anymore. Things don't feel bad, but they don't feel truly good either. You feel stuck, complacent, like you're just going through the motions of life, every day exactly the same as the last.

I have experience working with a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, religious trauma, substance abuse, and others. I like working with a wide range of individuals who are open to and motivated to change. I have worked in the medical field in some capacity for almost 10 years and understand the unique challenges that those in that field face. I understand how compassion fatigue and secondary traumatic stress can impact those individuals. I currently only work with adults (18+).

There's no "Just snap out of it!" this time...You've come to realize that you need some help. In the past you have successfully stuffed down troubling memories and emotions but this time it’s different. You're tired of the anxious feelings, disturbing dreams, flashbacks, overwhelm, fatigue(!), and daily mental cloudiness taking its toll. And the impact on your relationships and peace of mind is maddening! Add in well-intentioned friends and family who just seem to make you feel worse - ugh! You're desperate to feel better but don't even know where to begin.

As a military veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I understand the unique challenges that first responders, military personnel, and veterans face daily. The weight of trauma, high-pressure environments, and the toll on mental health can be overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I specialize in working with active-duty military, veterans, police officers, firefighters, EMS, and other first responders who experience PTSD, anxiety, depression, operational stress, and burnout.

I truly believe that all people want to and deserve to feel good and be happy. Much of our lives are spent trying to achieve these goals yet we continue to feel disappointed and like something is missing. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, conflict in relationships, difficulty with emotions, trauma, shame, or even a general sense of hopelessness or discontentment in life. My hope in therapy is to come alongside you and make sense of what you are feeling and/or experiencing while working toward healing and wholeness in yourself and your relationships.

My outlook on therapy is the client / therapist relationship is the highest priority. Without a strong connection, the rest is not as effective. I work hard to meet clients where they are at, and think through what kind of goals they want to set and how to get there. I have been practicing since 2019, and have experience working with adults, adolescents, and families. I have worked a great deal with anxiety and depression, and learning how to cope with them and get back to living. Most of my background is using CBT and DBT, but I strive to use whatever tools are going to be most effective for each individual client.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
