I enjoy working with women during pregnancy, miscarriage/
loss
, postpartum depression/anxiety, and infertility challenges.
You're struggling with infertility and it seems like its been forever. Maybe you are pregnant or had a baby and this isn't how you pictured your perinatal period. This is supposed to be the most special time in your life from what everyone else says, but you feel alone and no one understands your struggles. You hear "everything will be okay." Maybe you're experiencing hopelessness, fear, guilt, embarrassment, disappointment, frustration, and you don't know what to do. Trying to search on Google or talking to your doctor for the answers hasn't helped and even talking to your best friend makes you feel less understood. I'm here!

I specialize in working with patients who have experienced trauma and are seeking insight into the origins of their symptoms in order to achieve symptom reduction. These patients often seek assistance with depression, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, etc., and through psychoeducation and deep exploration come to find that the symptoms are manifestations of unresolved emotion and unexplored inner worlds. The initial presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, etc. in this case, are sometimes merely metaphor of adverse experiences stored in the internal landscape. My approach involves using my creative clinical skill set to

Hi, I'm Adam Pearson, have a Master's in Clinical Psychology and was trained by a Psychiatrist post grad for 2 years. I use a variety of techniques and tools, but therapy is typically 8-16 weeks. Around 8 weeks your symptoms should be going from Severe to Moderate, and 16ish moderate to mild. If you have been in therapy for 6 months and got minimally better than something is very wrong. I practice from a faith based perspective but all are welcome. You can text, call or email and I usually can see a new patient within 48-72 hours. I have had PTSD, Depression, OCD and am now free. Now it's your turn!

In sessions we will strive to work towards the authentic self, providing the self support to make changes that have been tough to succeed in the past. We work together as a team to identify what may be contributing to these internal and external struggles and what next steps to take, moving forward together to achieve your mental wellness goals.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
