My ideal client is one who is aware they have past trauma and have decided to make a commitment to come to therapy to address it. Their issues include depression, anger, dissociation, psychosis, and shame. Their needs might include understanding that their basic human needs (physical, emotional, and psychological) were not met and this is a reason why they might often struggle to relate others and especially themselves. There may be a fear of opening up. What my clients want is to process their trauma and live an embodied existence - not afraid to be open and radically gentle with themselves.

I use evidence based practices such at EMDR, CPT-C, Prolonged Exposure, CBT, and others.
I believe that everyone has the potential to grow and learn. Friends and family are great support at times, but sometimes people can benefit from more. I often tell people therapy is a little bit like having a coach. It is someone to set goals with, someone to hold you accountable, someone to cheer you on and help you navigate the road map of life. It is my goal to help you get on the track that is best suited for you and your family, and come up with a plan to help you stay the course!

I bring over 13 years of clinical experience helping clients release emotional pain, shift deep-rooted patterns, and feel like themselves again using EMDR and Brainspotting.
You might feel a restlessness that you can't explain. A tightness in your chest that shows up without warning. A pattern in relationships that keeps repeating no matter how hard you try. An exhaustion from working on yourself and still feeling stuck.
What's underneath is usually something your system has been carrying for a long time — and is ready to release. Trauma is simply what hasn't been fully processed mentally, emotionally, and in the body yet. It doesn't have to be a dramatic event. It just has to be something that got stuck. And with the right support, what got stuck can move — and you can feel like yourself again.

I am EMDR trained and use an attachment-focused approach to help clients process difficult experiences that feel too difficult to move beyond.
Many people understand why they struggle but still feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in the same patterns. Therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself, feel heard and supported, and create meaningful change. I believe people make sense in the context of their experiences, and that many of the ways we cope, relate, and protect ourselves developed for a reason. My approach is relational, attachment-based, and trauma-informed, with a focus on helping clients better understand themselves and their experiences with curiosity and compassion.

Let's be honest, sometimes you just need to be heard. That's it, listened to! Get it all out, whatever your IT is.
The bottom line is you need someone to listen.
Let me listen.
So let's .... TALK.

Do you know what EMDR is?
You've done the talking. You've read the books, made the lists, understood exactly why you do the thing you do — and you still do the thing. You white-knuckle your way through the habit, the anxiety, the pattern you swore you'd break, and it keeps looping back like your brain didn't get the memo your logical mind already signed off on. That's because the part running the show isn't the thinking part. It's older, deeper, and it's been protecting you with the same worn-out strategy since you were a kid. Insight alone doesn't reach it.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
