Many are taught to push through challenges on their own — to stay strong, stay busy, and keep moving forward. But sometimes that approach leads to feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next. Therapy offers a space to step back, make sense of your experiences, and move forward with greater clarity and intention. While I work with a range of clients, I frequently support men navigating identity, emotional expression, stress, and life transitions.

Are you troubled by negative or distressing thoughts and memories from the past or present? Have you experienced a trauma? Perhaps you find yourself "overreacting" to minor or non-incidents. Do others say you're "too sensitive"? Maybe you have lost someone or something and you're finding it difficult to move forward. You are in a battle to reclaim you're stability, freedom, joy, self-confidence, self-worth, self-control, or even a part of yourself. Somehow you have lost your way & you would give just about anything to get back to how life used to be. Or maybe you desire something even better than before.

Are you struggling with past trauma that keeps resurfacing and affects your relationships, sense of self, or even your physical well-being? I am unable to describe an ideal client. I welcome the full range of issues and personalities. Even in cases, where a client is not sure what their goals are, I look forward to helping them become more clear about a direction. We all want to be our best possible selves no matter what we bring to the table. Life is complicated and sometimes ecouragement, support, and guidance gives us the push we need.

Making the decision to seek therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. Getting help during a difficult time can ease the burdens one carries during times of high stress and transition. Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Eating Disorders, Addiction and Self-Destructive Behaviors are real problems, yet with the right treatment you can expect to experience meaningful recovery and growth. In therapy, we work collaboratively to reduce the impact the symptoms or behaviors have on your life and build coping strategies and resiliency.

I seek to do whatever possible to help you feel safe in counseling. The relationship between you and I needs to be one that feels warm, inviting, non-judgmental, and encouraging. From the safety of this relationship, you can then feel supported enough to grieve what has been lost and push to fight for the things that have been taken from your life.

Our focus as we work together will be on life-long SUSTAINABLE change. How often have you changed, and then life rolls over you or memories overwhelm you, and your response shows you that the change didn't stick? My first aim is to help clients build new habits, new perspectives, and new thought patterns; my second and equally important goal is to grow deep roots on those hard-fought-for changes. When you have worked so desperately and confronted the old you, grown in grace and love toward yourself and others, we will be sure that those powerful transitions will be held on to and established as a way to thrive.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists
What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?
By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?
Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?
It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
