I have a special interest and extensive training in working with mother's who are experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Welcome! I have experience working with adolescents and adults. I strive to develop a safe and trusting relationship as I believe it's the foundation of successful psychotherapy. I take a holistic approach to working with my clients in the therapy room. I practice from a strengths-based framework and believe that one cannot be treated in isolation, but rather within the family and environmental systems they engage with every day. I believe in the importance of meeting you exactly where you are at, and providing an empathic, non-judgmental space for you to process through your experiences.

We have particular depth in women’s mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum, reproductive loss, and perimenopause, and offer in-house medication management for postpartum and perimenopausal mood and anxiety concerns.
However you’re arriving — you’re welcome here. We work with adults, couples, and teens navigating anxiety, stress, grief, relationship challenges, identity shifts, and life transitions. Many are seeking clarity, emotional steadiness, relief from persistent stress, or support through meaningful change — without being rushed, labeled, or treated like a diagnosis. In addition, licensed providers interested in full- or part-time, in-person or remote opportunities are welcome to reach out with inquiries about joining our team.

People who see me for individual therapy are usually facing turmoil either due to current stressors or past issues that keep surfacing and prevent them from moving forward in their lives. Often, people tell me that they feel "stuck" and need direction/guidance. By working with me they identify their inner strengths and capabilities; they feel confident in themselves to take on challenges that come their way. In therapy we identify things that should change because what clients are doing currently is not helping. I problem solve and discuss ways to make their present meaningful. My strength based approach resonates with clients.

My approach is client-centered and rooted in the belief that the client knows themselves best; this approach is based on Adlerian teachings and the idea of holism. I look at all aspects of them as a person and not just the presenting problem. I like to help clients gain the skills to navigate through their struggles. While I understand the purpose and need for goals, I am more of a solution-based clinician. I believe in fostering the client’s strength to achieve what they want out of therapy. I try to accomplish all of this through a sense of humor, directness, and a dash of approachability.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.
When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.
How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
