Sometimes life shifts suddenly—a relationship ends, a big change arrives, or we realize we can’t keep living the way we have been. Other times, nothing dramatic happens; we’re simply exhausted by anxiety, stress, or constant overthinking. I work with people facing life transitions, difficult decisions, burnout, or feeling scattered and overwhelmed. Together we slow things down, clarify what matters, and make sense of what’s happening so you can move forward with greater steadiness and direction.

Growing up in a rural area with limited access to mental health services sparked my desire to become a psychologist, particularly one who leverages online platforms to reach individuals who might otherwise face barriers to care. My personal experiences with anxiety and the positive impact of online therapy further solidified my commitment to this field.

You may look like you’re holding everything together on the outside while internally feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Maybe your nervous system feels constantly “on,” your relationships feel harder lately, or you’re tired of overthinking and pushing through. Therapy can help you slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin feeling more grounded and connected again. I often work with adults who are high-functioning but internally struggling with burnout, people-pleasing, relationship stress, anxiety, or unresolved experiences that continue affecting daily life.

The world is a complicated and messy place, and life can be the same way. Luckily resilience, coping, and inner strength are all skills we can learn, not traits that we either have or don't have.

My counseling philosophy seeks to find the root of issues, rather than only focusing on managing surface-level symptoms. I incorporate positive psychology, Attachment theory, Family Systems, and Jungian analysis- including a focus on Personality Types, as identified by the Myers-Briggs (MBTI). I believe change occurs in therapy when the client is able to identify the things that are holding them back or distracting them from finding fulfillment in developing their true self. My work as a therapist is to partner with you on your journey toward wholeness as a safe, consistent, trustworthy listener and helper.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
